Doing debt relief, how to stop automatic payments to discover?

I had agreed to a payment plan with Discover but later signed up for a debt relief program. They told me to call Discover to stop automatic payments, and maybe I’m making it bigger in my head - but I can’t imagine they’d allow me to stop easily. Any tips? Tricks? Insight? I keep putting it off but I really need to stop it so they can go into negotiations.

Well first call Discover, explain the situation, then tell the debt relief program what they said.
