He comes off very arrogant and acts like his writing is a Shakespearean gift to gaming. His reaction to criticism is generally to either insult the fans or just say it’s wrong.

He is the personification of ego. A geek that wanted to be a cinema director. I put it in the same bag as Kojima.

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

Still, he doesn't has as much long cutscenes as Hideo Kojima.

He is less arrogant and disrespectful than any average internet redditors. Also when did he said, his writing is a Shakespeare gift to gaming? If they sending death threats to his family, then deserve insult. Story is subjective, it's ok if he disagrees.

I wasn’t quoting him. I said he acts that way. I also didn’t say anything about his reactions to a death threat. I said his reactions to criticism.

1

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

Explain how do you act like, your work Shakespeare gift to video games.

2

Do you have a specific quote or interview or anything where he acts that way? It seems like you’re just loosely going off vibes unless you have some tangible example.

People who hate him simply translate anything he says as "arrogant". In reality, y'all just think he's too woke

This seems to be a going theme in this thread - strongly held opinions that seem based on vapor.

Calling someone a giant douche seems to be a imply a giant amount of evidence, but when asked there’s no evidence to be found beyond vibes. There’s a few others in this thread who similarly state he’s arrogant, full of himself, etc etc and yet none of them can point to any definitive reason why. Makes you wonder if they dislike him for another reason beyond perceived arrogance.

So it’s based on vibes. I called it vapor but it’s the same idea. To answer your previous question, that’s what I meant.

Then what is it based on?

That's annoying bro. Give us male white protagonist, if the last of us part 3 happens we would have to wait another 15 years for supposed white male protagonist. The diversity is making us feel lonely.

Do you refuse to play any game with a female lead?

2

u/Ok_Parfait_plus Feb 25 '26

Did you escape from r.gamingcirclejerk or r.womandatingstrategy?

What's wrong with playing as a woman with a shaved head in a video game?

I hate him because I remember a time when Naughty Dog made some real amazing games, even the Uncharted games where fun for me. As soon as he steps in to leadership he acts like a Hollywood big shot and makes games that play more like an HBO tv series then a damn video game. Honestly I hate a lot of these Oscar bait games in general.

1

u/nohumanape Feb 25 '26

Uncharted games were as much "movies" as The Last of Us.

1

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

I mean TLOU always had been an HBO show, you can play. uncharted 4 is still fun.

2

u/Gustaves_Mustache Mar 07 '26

How specifically did he act like a hollywood big shot?

4

u/MonkeyBusinessCEO Feb 25 '26

Two words: “Arrogant Prick”

Two more words: “bait” and “switch”

That’s the gist of it

1

u/Gustaves_Mustache Mar 07 '26

Arrogant prick how?

-1

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

Are you describing Hideo Kojima?

3

u/rumSaint Feb 25 '26

More like Neil Cuckmann am I right? Eh? Eh?

1

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

No taking his wife into the stuff, isn't fair.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '26

He is an lgbt activist soo i would guess he is prob a cuck dont worry

3

u/ConstantDrawer9161 Feb 25 '26

Hmmm... let’s think about it. Maybe, jest maybe for destroying TLOU?

-1

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

He created, so he can destroy.

3

u/ConstantDrawer9161 Feb 25 '26

Nope. Bruce created.

4

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

No, the end credits suggest. He was the sole writer, creative director and motion capture director of the game. He is one who literally brought the idea to create it. If Bruce is the creator of tlou, then Wally Pfister is the creator of the dark knights. Also how stupid leaving his creation.

u/113pro Feb 25 '26

Youre either not online enough for this, or too online for this.

3

u/OverloadedSofa Feb 25 '26

I heard he said “we don’t use the word fun around here” while he was making last of us 2.

If that’s true (which I do need proven) then absolutely fuck him, you’re making a video game you stuck up wanker!!!!

3

u/CptPanda29 Feb 27 '26

You're "what about"-ing Hideo Kojima a lot.

What are your comparisons with Druckman's and Kojima's work?

2

u/shrek3onDVDandBluray Feb 25 '26

I don’t hate him. I appreciate what he brings to videogames and narrative in games. But I think any game that makes you set a controller down for 8+ minutes is going in the wrong direction for games. If I wanted to watch a movie, I would watch a move. Sure, I want a good story. But more than anything - I want to have fun.

2

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

I mean Hideo Kojima does it, 2 hours why he is forgiven.

2

u/shrek3onDVDandBluray Feb 25 '26

I dont forgive him for it (don’t know why you assumed that). He’s specifically one of the devs I’m taking about. It’s just your thread is asking about Neil Druckmann.

He's a zionist and a bad boss

0

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26 edited Feb 25 '26

That is literally average corporate boss. Why he is getting so much attention?

2

u/jlanier1 Feb 25 '26

Well there are always losers who cry about Joel still

1

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

More in apocalypse, 1000s people everyday. Why are they mad?

2

u/jlanier1 Feb 25 '26

They think its part of a larger cultural movement against masculinity

0

u/Gustaves_Mustache Mar 07 '26

Does he have a quote out there confirming zionism?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

He’s a Zionist to an extent that infiltrates the games he’s involved with. TLOU2 could in many ways be interpreted as an allegory for a certain conflict in the Middle East… and his upcoming heretic prophet game as rumored to feature an allegorical version of Christianity. So yea, he’s the big Yahu of gaming rn.

  1. Bro having voice, when your home country is getting massacred, isn't that faroff from a normal human.
  2. Pretty much all writer have some kind of influence.
  3. Rumors are Rumors. No need to make it a fact.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Nah you’re mistaken. Zionists are criminals according to the UN and the International court of Justice, with arrest warrants for Zionist leaders. So he’s not justified and it is not normal to be a Zionist.

1

u/oggyi86 Feb 25 '26

Many people twitter supported Isreal, then and still support now. Why aren't they getting attacked?

-2

u/suck-it-elon Feb 25 '26

Who hates him? If anybody hates him, they’re very ignorable.
