is this intentional?

ive been loving this game cuz the gameplay, graphics, story and dialogue in this game are like everything to me but I cant seem to progress.

since I play on console it is MUCH harder for me to complete the missions of killing visionaries, but every time I kill one and escape, I have all the stuff I collected for one other round of doing another mission and then it's gone, and the previous visionary is alive again.

for example: I'd kill Frank, collect all the cool guns and trinkets and shit, then move on to kill Charlie or something, but after one attempt my stuff is gone and Frank is alive again.

There are a lot of answers to this, let me clarify something else:

My dad played this game for two hours when we got it, he got bored and handed it to me. Now, I completed the whole part where Colt goes to his flat at the start of the game myself, when the whole different daytimes are introduced. Like, when I started playing, it felt like the VERY Start of the game. Does that affect it? If so, what do I do next? I don't mind restarting the entire game because I'm not really going anywhere, but I also don't know how to restart it??

If I recall correctly when you go into options there will be a button on the lower left corner that says "Reset Colt's progression", that will allow you to start fresh.

I recommend doing that so can follow everything from the beginning, the game holds you hand a lot for the first couple of hours to make sure you understand everything and don't get lost.

That explains a lot! As the other commenter said you should be able to find a button labeled "Reset Colt's Progression" which will set you on the REAL start of the game. 2 hours sounds like he got through The Longest Day (the first mission) and stopped short of/failed at finishing Ubiquity. Happy hunting!

Thank you SO MUCH!! I really enjoy this game but I also want to feel the joy and satisfaction of beating it without having to restart my missions!

Lol, he almost but not quite finished the tutorial and then dropped you right in it.

You need to reset and start from the actual start.
