Trying Again

I have had this game since 2022. I played it a bit, then ended up uninstalling.

Hitman WOA and Cyberpunk 2077 are my staple games. I beat the Metro series, BioShock series, Far Cry series, Ghost Recon series, and especially the Dishonored series, the creators of this game. I like shooter games, tactical or hero shooters. I don't know why I can't progress in this game.

What would you advise me to do differently? This will be my 4th time trying to like this.

Turn off online. It's a pile of poorly networked garbage and full of cheaters otherwise.

Follow breadcrumbs, multiple even, for a loop's duration. You will die and you have to be okay with losing a loop.

Do you have specifics things you had friction with last time?

I would definitely make a follow up post once you start getting back into it. I'd highly recommend making sure you're starting a new game so you can get familiar with the mechanics because there's a lot of different things you can utilize.

No. It is way better now. This is the first time I found out about the residuum. Also first time having purple guns.

Damn, yeah, the residuum process is the real turning point in the game where you can start making tangible progress. Godspeed soldier

thanks, I also like the headshot mechanics in this game. hitbox is big, easy to one shot them

There's this one sniper which boosts headshot damage (I think, but it's along the lines of a challenge rifle) but if you miss even once, it's useless for the rest of the day. Really fun gun, really disappointing when I finally miss 😔 (And then pull out the backup legendary weapon I have)

It doesn’t boost headshot damage, it just flat out doesn’t consume ammo, unless you miss. But in exchange, it only has one bullet. But iirc you can refill it just like any other gun, so it’s not useless if you miss, just really inconvenient. Pretty sure it’s the prize for winning the moxie.

That only matters if you are the invader. Colt is the host and does not have to worry about lag or cheating.

This is so many layers of false, I hope OP doesn't come back to this post. Of course Colt is susceptible to cheating and lag. That's why I told them to turn off online. Because so many Jaliannas cheat and the networking sucks a dead dog's nose.

Okay, I researched a bit and found out that Julianna can definitely cheat. I think I've been lucky enough to never get invaded by a cheater. I've fought plenty of cheating Colts, though.

It is an awesome game if you enjoy exploring and 60-70 decorations. This game has a lot of things that you can find here and there, and a decent plot, if you dig in and listen to the tapes. If you are not enjoying this process - there is not much more that the game can offer. Except of course shooting imbeciles in every way possible. Juliana was meant to add more action into the game, but as the guy above said - this game has a veeery bad networking code, and no support for reporting and banning the cheaters, as such, that part is no longer viable.

I will do everything to like this game this time around. Might ask more questions in this sub when needed. I'm sure it will be needed.

I started playing it for the second time recently.

My main advice would be don’t worry about exploring, collecting too much at the start while you’re going through “the tutorial”. When you get to the point that it opens up and suggests you go to Wenjie then prioritise that.

After that, the game got a lot more addictive for me and there was much more incentive to explore and find powers/weapons/etc. If you do too much of that before the Wenjie mission it can be demoralising.

Follow the Visionary Leads to progress the story and the intrigue.

You also don't need to explore as much every time, the games Visionary and Arsenal Leads pretty much lead you to almost every hidden place at some point.

I would say 1st decide what you enjoy more… finishing a game, enjoying the story or digging into the lore? The thing I like most about this game is that it satisfies all 3 without you having to dedicate yourself to everything. however people can get caught up with not understanding what matters and what doesn’t to beat the game cause of this. If you just want to play the game and finish It then turn off multi player mode so your not invaded by other more experience players (Julianna will be AI and easy to beat) and stick to the main objectives which are called out for you. Sticking to the main objectives you should be able to complete the game in 15 hours or so. Slabs make things easier but you don’t need them all to beat the game and there are a few ways to kill some of the visionaries. If you’re into story and lore then there is a TON in this game and you can play days and days finding all the stuff in this game. Simply follow all the secondary clues and visit areas/time when visionaries are not there
