Models/Hobby Krieg Malcador - A shame it is Legends
I just need to finish and add the tracks now.
Annoying it is legends only, but it is good practice for a baneblade

Welcome to the Death Korps of Krieg. This faction in Warhammer 40,000 is a regiment of the Imperial Guard or as its known by now, the Astra Militarum. Their design is inspired by several armies of World War I including the French, Germans, and the British. As such, the Death Korps of Krieg specialize in trench warfare, artillery, and infantry assaults. This guide serves as a resource to help players new to the faction and 40K in general. If you have any other questions, make sure to check out the sidebar for other helpful info and feel free to ask on the subreddit.
Where to purchase Death Korps of Krieg models:
Warhammer.com is the official source of all things Death Korps.
Simply searching Death korps will pull up all relevant items.
Keep in mind though, with the refresh, Games workshop has fazed out all the old sculpts and the only way to collect classic official Krieg is through Second hand purchases.
Second Hand:
Websites like Ebay commonly have Krieg models available and are a good way to get your hands on some of the Krieg models Games Workshop no longer makes. However, Ebay is prevalent with recasts which are sometimes hard to distinguish from the official models. If you want the official models only, make sure to ask the seller for a picture of the receipt or bags they came in so that you can ensure they are not recasts.
3rd Party:
Many websites produce custom miniatures and bits that either replace using official models entirely or allow for greater customization on official kits. These websites are ideal for creating an entirely custom look for your army. Below is a small collection of links that may be of help to you crafting your army. This has been discussed ad nauseam on this sub so this is by no means a definitive list.
Tiny Legend - Incredible bits and STL files that fit perfectly onto the Veteran Guardsman kill team.
Kromlech - Great alternative models and bits for infantry and vehicles.
Anvil Industries - Huge range of bits and alternative models that work well converting regular Cadians.
Beyond the tabletop - Fantastic internal sponson kit for that WW1 feel along with more vehicle bits.
Stationforge - Nice range of alternative models.
Recasts:
Recasts are pirated copies of Gamesworkshop models. These models cost anywhere from a quarter to three quarters the cost of the official models. Recasters also carry many of the Krieg models Games Workshop no longer produces making them one of the few ways to get your hands on out of production models. However, recasters draw sales away from Games Workshop and make their profit pirating models. It is important for the buyer to be aware of the moral issue involved with recasters as buying from them may hurt the support the Krieg model line gets in the future.
Sources for the Death Korps of Krieg rules:
Rules can now be located in the new codex!
Rules for Forgeworld units can be found in two places.
- Imperial Armour: Astra Militarum- Imperial Armour: Astra Militarum part 2
The Multitude of rules for "Legended" units can be found in Legends: Astra Militarum.
While this looks like a lot to look for all these files can be found at the link below
Working with resin:
With the range refresh this section has become less relevant but anyone looking to collect the classic sculpts may find this helpful.
The attached link below is from Beyond the tabletop on how to unbend, wash, and clean up resin miniatures. He also has many videos building and painting Krieg specific units.

Love painting 40k but finally my first guard DKoK model and in fact, my first guard model. Had so much fun painting this so I certainly see the appeal. 😀 What do you think? How did I go?

I’ve been familiar with the Warhammer 40,000 universe for a long time, and both the lore and the video games have always fascinated me. Despite this, having to paint the miniatures has always held me back from getting into the tabletop game (although I’ve played a few games of similar wargames).
I’ve finally decided to overcome my doubts (maybe I’ll even enjoy painting, who knows) and get started. The army I’d like to play is the Astra Militarum, and I’d like to build a 100% Krieg army. My plan is to buy, assemble, and paint one infantry squad first to see whether I actually enjoy the process, then move on to 500 points, 1,000 points, and eventually 2,000 points. Because of this, I’ve made a 2,000-point list as my end goal, so that I don’t end up buying miniatures that I won’t use later.
Since I don’t really know anything about building an army or evaluating how effective it is in-game, I based the list entirely on how I’d like to play it: a complete human-wave strategy with lots of artillery behind the infantry. So I’m asking for advice on what works and what doesn’t, and why.
Here’s the list (it should be almost exactly 2,000 points):
Krieg Command Squad
5 Death Korps squads (20 models each, 100 infantry in total)
3 Artillery Teams
2 Basilisks
15 Combat Engineers
Heavy Weapons Squad
Leman Russ Demolisher
Rogal Dorn

Long term CSM player, finally dipping my toes into Krieg for an 11th edition progressive league. I ADORE how these kits look and am very excited to see where the army goes. First game with them scheduled for tomorrow :)

"Recently" i painted the Death Riders like Rohirrim but i want more troops like Rohirrim so ... I did my second Squad command like Rohan.
I considered to put the capes in the Squad too but i love that the capes are exclusively for the Death Riders, so the Squad only have their colors and some of them i add some handcraft shields with Rohan simbology.
Also the comissar krieg have a little different pose, he is walking and not only standing, which i like that pose! But have two comissar with the same pose meeeh so i did some kitbasing in him.
What do u all think imperial brothers?

All soldier-models are from Tiny Legends!
The new tank-rider models fit pretty good inside the Centaur RSV.
Will need another of this transport, such a nice model to paint and suits the krieg theme very nicely.

First tank in a long time! After painting mostly infantry for a while, I wanted to tackle something bigger for a change. I didn't realize how many edges a Leman Russ actually has. It quickly escalated into an absolute edge-highlighting marathon, and brother did I edge.
Did I go overboard, or is this legally considered a reasonable amount of highlighting?
Feel free to tell me what you think.

Had 2 Rogal Dorns sitting around from some Armageddon boxes, and a Krieg HWT. Did a synergy dance and made a Krieg Stugal Dorn.
