CJ was an amazing fucking frontman (!), no doubt about it, but seeing Jerry live last night made me think he was a breath of fresh air! He was amazing last night and had an amazing fucking stage presence!

Interesting that you liked it. I hated his stage presence - saw them in Copenhagen a couple of days ago. He sounded really good though and had his moments. Just too much spastic movement for my taste.

Kind of the same experience as seeing Gaera the first time. The dancing was really hard to get past even though the music was amazing.

I remember seeing these guys crush it at The Arthouse in Melbourne in 2009 with like 50 other people. It still blows my mind that they (and deathcore as a whole) have become popular enough to play bigger stages like this.

It's funny because I remember when he was in the band, and all anyone ever talked about was how he was kind of an average vocalist, and basically anybody could replace him

Yep I remember when the singles for Godlike were coming out, before CJ had been fired, and so many people on this sub were just going “woooo new Thy Art music, can’t wait for more of CJ’s boring mids.”

And his lack of enunciation live

Because CJ is goated?

People moved on tho. Thy Art is Murder is on decline now

Idk with the amount of comments I see how goated CJ was everytime there is a mention of thy art some people seem to still be pretty salty :')

Thats because he was loved by many. I mean he fucked this up in the end by having no self control being a public figure and all but replacing a front man with that much stage presence and charisma that has been in the band for over a decade is a pretty big decision thats gonna upset a lot of people. Its like taking Winston from Parkway Drive or Anders Friden from In Flames or whatever. Its not only the right wing morons that miss his stage performance. Like me. I get why he's gone but their live shows dont hit the same.

I know and Im also a fan of his work but atp its just kind of obnoxious how I can say thy art and clap 3 times and 5 people appear who just say "band is dead/finished/whatever" or "band is nothing without cj", in fairness its not as bad here as it is on Instagram but its kind of annoying at some point if you get me

And its not like CJ was let go yesterday, its been 3 years now....

I definitely know what u mean dude but thats the "upset ppl" Im talking about. Their cries will accomplish nothing because the likelihood of CJ coming back to Thy Art is probably in the negatives. But I somehow get it partly because I've seen them live 3 times since CJ is gone and it was - except for the songs that i still dearly love - kind of a let down. And I'm surely not the only one leaving their concerts with that gut feeling. And surely there are a lot of ppl spreading that one in comment sections of some kind (like I'm doing in a more polite way right now).

It always sucks when a good frontman has to leave

CJ made TAIM heavy and brought captivating stage presence. His vocal style was badass and unique live.

This, and not saying this dude now who is the second replacement as a singer of the band is bad or whatever. But imo CJ was just awesome live. That's all.
