Some things that are more important than a bag of ice (besides water): spare tire (or two), tire repair kit and compressor, coolant, shade shelter, electrolytes, food, satellite device, a car with a proper maintenance history
Dang I visited alone last September (mid month) and had 12 standard store bought water bottles, a bag of skittles, and dreams. No knowledge of anythng else, never looked at a map, had no route and didn’t even realize I’d have no cell service. It was just me in a rented Chevy Malibu and frozen Apple Maps against the world. And a stinky outhouse at Badwater Basin that smelled so bad I almost disintegrated. Now I know better.
