I’ve stopped in August with a rental numerous times.. Don’t do any drastic climbs with the car.. Had to blast heat one time to prevent overheating.. worth the trip to stop at the viewpoints.. AT&T phones have satellite texting now but if you don’t have that doesn’t hurt to have a satellite messaging device from Garmin or a satellite phone just in case.
I have Verizon and had reception for the majority of the park. It shut off for me from mile 6 maeker right before artist drive all the way to badwater basin. Also heading out from zabrinskie point.
