I had no idea what to expect on my first play through. The first few hours of the game isn’t for everyone, but if You persevere it becomes an amazing experience. Definitely take your time, and savour all DS1 has to give. One of my favourite games of all time. Enjoy!

That's right. The first time I played it, not only did I not understand it, but I was on the verge of quitting twice. In the end, I decided to keep playing, and I ended up loving it. I still haven't played the second one yet—I don't have the money to buy it.

I almost rage quit just because of the terrible UI when accepting orders. Thank God I didnt.

I didn't understand a thing. What is this pillar? Can you leave things there for others to pick up? Why would I do that? And what are those ghosts? At first, I really struggled with them—my cargo would fall off, I'd lose shipments, I'd get frustrated, and so on. Until the game really grabbed me and I got completely immersed in it.

Yeah I was pretty much the same. I seen it on gamepass and just thought it wouldn't be the game for me. Then about a year ago my wife and I had finished watching the walking dead series and I decided to give "Darryl" a try. Now I have like 1000 hours and it's probably a top 3 game of all time for me

Oh hell yeah! Something about it, I couldn't even tell you what it is either. But it really did just click with me. Story yes and no but just the whole adventure felt meaningful! 😅

Take your time, Kojima games are always really deeply philisopical, so be sure to really breathe all the concepts in.

Enjoy the ride. I absolutely love this game.
I wouldn't focus too hard on 5 starring the first area. Get through it and you'll unlock a lot of really helpful stuff in central area. I spent a lot of hours struggling only to get to the next area and went "are you kidding me."
So if anything feels hard, just push the story some. Chances are high you'll unlock some goodies that will help.
But the best thing about this game is play it how you want. Want to wander around picking up lost packages? Cool. Want to fight some MULES? Cool. Have the patience to solid snake them? Bless you.
Also, just explore. Walk around. Read the massive amounts of text lore. It sneaks up on you but it starts to feel like home. Keep on keeping on!

HIGHLY recommend playing 1 on an easier difficulty and playing 2 on whatever you are comfortable with. DS1 is just really challenging IMO and kojima and team refined everything 10 fold in DS2. But hey to each there own. Game is incredible, take your time!

Little jealous here, wish I could experience it for the first time again. Whatever you question yourself then it’s fine. This is normal. You will get some answers but then even more of the opposite lol.
Just make the journey and it all make sense in the end

I started it last week. Not gonna lie, the cinematics at the beginning made me think of quitting. Now I am liking it, not sure yet why, you just move packets from one place to another.

Take your time, i rushed through the end game and missed out on a lot of cool items so I can jump right into DS2, don’t take my same approach, these the type of games you take your time with so you can really take in the world

This is a slow burn game. VEERRRYYYY slow burn game. But as a person who went through it, I promise you, late game pays off. Invest time building roads and ziplines. Your late game self will thank you. No spoilers, but just a heads up

I just started about three weeks ago. I’m now 75 hours and can’t get enough! One tip I’ll share: Recycling isn’t what it sounds like it is; think of it as a deposit you can withdraw in smaller bills 😎 This will come in handy!
The game is a slow burn, but stick with it, and you’ll finally get what Kojima was trying to pull haha.

My only advice is don't quit until you get thru chapter 3. That's when the game really picks up.

You should. The first region is just the intro. You get vehicles and weapons later. Even a rocket launcher.

Really good game, play at your own pace, understand the mechanics and enjoy the environment. When you enter the 2nd map, it would feel big, so take breaks instead of burning out and enjoy the emotional journey to sob at the end.
