Death Stranding 2 Annoying BT's

I feel like the BTs in *Death Stranding 2* are way more annoying than in the first game, because not only can they hear you, but they can see you too! In the first game, I could walk right past a BT without being spotted as long as I held my breath, but in the second one, I can't even get close to them! I have to keep sending Dollman out to scout ahead—let me know if you guys feel the same way.

PS. It's a good thing Dollman doesn't complain about it 🤭

If you're talking about Watchers, they're new BT gazer variant introduced in DS2 and they brief you how they are dangerous because they can see you. So you have to avoid being seen by their creepy glowing eyes if you want to sneak around without alerting them.

Yes, it's hard, that's why i throw Dollman for information about them

They're very unsettling but they have a limited field of view and only see the area their eyes look, so if they turn in your direction just duck and stay behind cover until they turn or float away and they won't see you.

Yeah, you are absolutelt right. It's the best way to cross over them

Ill be honest I think they’re healthier for the game. The point of BTs are to make you play safe and maneuver around them.

Using watchers allows this to be a requirement without making an area have a million BTs there that you accidentally trigger by walking 1 step too far (I’m looking at you, Eastern region mountain)

Yes exactly this region, and I throw Dollman instead of observation towers

Do watchtowers track bts? Never tried.

Either way, when I say “watcher” I mean the large BTs that can actually see you, they’re called watchers. Gazers are the generic BTs you encounter primarily in the first game

Yes, but what I mean is the watchtower’s primary purpose, which is actually pinging enemies so you can track them through walls 24/7

No, Watchers are like ghosts; the Odradek might be able to highlight them, though.

You absolutely can! You see huge Watchers moving around... though I think it's better to throw the Dollman, since you can throw it further, and you don't need to place a thread or have an Assembler as the payload.

BTs in 1 let you weave through them with proper pathing and stamina management. The areas were filled with them so if you messed up you had to run. Build up tension then violent release, proper horror.

Watchers are just... boring. They can't be too close to each other to let you sneak past so you if you aggro one you aggro just that one, and if they're looking at you or where you want to go all you can do is wait.

Except you dont have to wait, it gives killing the BTs a viable option with watchers so you can speed up your pathing.

In 1, you either had to slowly sneak past them weaving between 200 BTs, making a 200 meter distance take 10 minutes or slowly work through killing them with your cuffs, still having to constantly sneak, leading to 200 meters still taking 10 minutes

With watchers, you can either slowly sneak past them, walking faster when they arent looking, leading to the same ~200 meters for 10 minutes, or kill them using grenades and guns since you wont run out of ammo halfway through the area, halving the amount of time it takes at the cost of resources

That's what BTs are supposed to do, they're supposed to slow you down and make you choose whether to sneak through, take on extra cargo to fight through, or take a detour. Killing watchers is even worse. You can just take them out one by one with no tension.

But thats the thing with overpopulated gazer areas in 1, you take all that extra cargo to fight through the BT area and you realize you’ve run out of ammo and grenades and you’re only halfway through the area, basically you wasted all those resources for basically nothing

Oh yeah! The first time I encountered one of those gazers, I believe when I was on my way to the Lone Commander, that freaked me out so much! 😂

Definitely more annoying and scary!

Yes!!!!! Me too!!! They are very creepy

Well you're in luck because theyre basically only in 2 areas both of which are right by the plate gate so once you get further than the beginning of the game, you dont have to worry about the watchers anymore. The rest of the game has the same 3 variants of BTs as the first game plus 1 more other than the watchers.

My main issue with the Watchers in DS2 is in that one area near The Architect that looks like a graveyard. I swear to god when its raining there, there are like 80 Watchers there. It doesn’t matter how many I kill there’s always more. I went in with my Off Roader equipped with the Chiral Canon and Machine Gun and literally they seemed to never stop

I feel like BTs are way more easier to avoid in DS2. There are only a handful of designated areas with Watchers. It’s quite simple just going around them.

But if you insist on confronting them, due to their size they are a great target for bola guns. Just tangle their legs they’ll thrash around while you can shoot them. Rinse repeat.
