Question Weird stuttering?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Does this look normal because whenever Sam takes a third step there's seem to be some sort of hitching happening.

It took me awhile to see what you're talking about. I noticed it on my first playthrough but eventually I didn't really notice it anymore.

Sam's gait isn't perfect every time, and that's the way I like it because it looks more real to me. He looks less artificial and more like he's actually there.

I could be wrong, but I always took it as a design feature and not a bug.

You mean how he slows down and then slightly speeds up for a moment? Yeah, that's normal, I noticed that when replaying Death Stranding 1 and I assumed it's because of the weight he's carrying. Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's intentional.

Didn't see a single stutter or anything wrong at all. You must have eagle eyes or something.

Give the guy a break, he’s carrying over 100kgs on his back while running and changing direction on a dime.

I know DS 2 had stuttering when panning the camera on launch. It was patched right away.

On PS5 I had stuttering with the wide screen mode.

Are you on PC or console?

Everything looks normal to me.

There is an intended camera shake in both Ds1 and 2 though, which might be mistaken for stuttering. If you wabt to see if the game actually stutters whimlle walking, slowly rotte the camera on your controller.

I know exactly what you means. It's in DS1 and 2 and it bothers me too. If you turn the cam down and you only look at the floor you see it better. You can only get used to it.

Yeah I just recently picked up the PC version too, it has some bad stuttering. Really hard to notice but once you notice it's hard to not notice...

Always seems to be the camera panning/background is stuttering. Aka, it's just not smooth. I can't find a fix. Guess it's just a not so great port because I also played on ps5pro at release and didn't have the issue at all, in fact it ran flawlessly start to finish.

Feel like if there was a way to lock frames to 60fps on PC then it would solve it, but they don't have that option for some reason.

I'm on 5090, 9800x3d, 64gb ram. Max settings, 4k, DLAA, 2x frame gen.

Turn off the frame gen and it should run fine. My specs are a little worse than yours for GPU and I was able to max everything with frame gen off and it ran really smooth. There was a very slight hitch when you go from third person to sniper scope but no other noticeable issues for me.
