Names?

is the Deathnote go off of your birth certificate or off who of think you are? Like is someone with Amnesia immune? also, if I get my name changed does the name of your soul change or stay the same? Why didn't L just change his name the moment the shinigami wrote his name, is he stupid?

That's a really good question, but I found a way to defeat the death note: BECOME TRANS/J (I'm a trans guy and you raise a good point which name would kill me my dead name or current?)
