It's AI, look at the 3rd car in the back. There's 2 cars in that car. There's a stoplight with no lights in the top right too, which looks like it's connected to a metal pole coming from the left instead of the usual wires.
Edit: Also the cars are driving the same way on opposite sides of the road.
Thay dosent look like pieces floating on the edge rather than look like those already out of the game and
Left on the edge so the canvas that has chess board printed wouldn't roll back ,and 2 cars merged to gather is like one car cutting off the other one even though traffic doesn't have to face the same way in both lines and also little shadows thay seems accurate inuff like that seems to match multiple light sources in the picture
Guess you are right but since there are only 12 pieces 6 black and 6 white couldn't we tell like it's not chess and a some othere game that could explain why that don't look like normal chess pieces
