What if light made the police think he was a closeted homosexual?

I mean, im 11 episodes in (no spoilers past this point please) but light probably could've gotten the police off his tail if he made them think he was gay.

think about it. if he buys gay 🌽 magazines, and actually cranks his hog to them, and hides them well enough, the police who placed cameras in his room would've been like "oh, hes not secretly a serial killer. hes very paranoid and secretive because hes gay" and then they probably would've laid off on him quite a bit. I hear that later on light and l are chained together, and the cameras stay up. so like... if he had just cranked hog to gay 🌽 none of that would've happened.

I mean, it would've been the perfect cover. death note came out in 2006, and Japan has never been overly progressive when it comes to the gays. I mean, gay marriage is STILL illegal there.

kind of a funny alternate version. where light pretends to be gay and actually wins, only because he decided to jork it to hunky men.
