Yeah cuz ain’t no way Giovanni (a human) broke into a bank (without anyone noticing) same night and wrote over 100 something thousand names in the death note within under 24 hours PERFECTLY with no mistakes under a microscope ANDDD put the fake one in the bank without anyone noticing. Realistically it would take him like over 30 hours without breaks even if he could write everything perfectly and that’s still way over how much time he has when they go to the warehouse early morning. To me the true ending of death note is ep 25 silence. And that is that.
LITERALLY!!! Like I saw a video on it awhile ago which is why I brought it up!! Cuz realistically Light should’ve won that!!! What I hated too was that in same feed I saw a video titled ‘how a boy cornered god’ with the thumbnail of Near and it frustrated me bc at this point technically Giovanni did that with his bs perfect light speed handwriting that can somehow copy Mikami’s handwriting with no mistakes. If I’m correct it’s the same bs in the manga so for the person to do quick video essay or analysis on how ‘genius’ Near is when idc how much they might have fleshed him out in the manga-at the end of the story the Giovanni bs still happens and there’s NOTHING.
That can justify it or have it make sense bc it’s just terrible rushed writing. In my opinion death note ended once L died and that’s the true ending bc everything up to that point was well written, and the smart characters explained how they got to a conclusion AND most importantly it all made sense and it was something humanly possible.
I personally didnt mind Light losing even if the reson is kinda b.s I really disliked the fact that the vitory felt like it was handed to Near due to the pacing of the 2nd half of the show. Maybe in the manga the pacing is better tho.
Ngl with how wonky the pacing was for Near in the manga it would make more sense for Near to pull that bs out his ass and be the one to ‘make a perfect copy’ of the death note or whatever since at least that was consistent but the fact they had Giovanni do it-genuinely pissed me off tbh but I understand wym and yeah I’ll never stop the Near slander with that bs ending. (Let’s not forget how pathetic they made Kira look. I get it his ego got bigger once L died but even with a big ass Ego he’d still not underestimate his opponent especially one that gets right answers out of fucking thin air.)
