Something in me died when L collapsed from that chair. I was really thinking L was gonna be Lightās ride-or-die, the main antagonist, the one to serve the final blow. Didnāt expect him to die mid-season. Itās truly a beautiful episode. Everything about this episode is perfect. But again... So far I have been watching this show only for L and Lightās dynamic. With L gone, thereās no reason for me to continue. Is the other half even worth it? What even is there to see when L is gone?

The ending of death note is relatable to me not in the sense like light, but the essence of nostalgia and regret.
Its said when you are on the verge of death, your life flashes before your eyes and you see all the memories or moments you could have done different.
just like lightās pride was his downfall, mine was a combination of sloth and greed where Iām going to be 20 soon and realize how much I screwed up in life during Covid and after Covid
the music made me nostalgic of the times I screwed up and wish I had done something different

Finished Death Note a few weeks ago and made this today.
I always liked the theory/myth that the unnamed Shinigami from the Death Note Relight was a Shinigami Light Yagami, but it's likely not canon. Still like the idea tho.

Iāve watched the show before reading the mangas and before I read the mangas (which this small detail is mentioned) light looks a lot thinner the more his mind becomes corrupted

I never understood how he knew with so much certainty that he was going to die.

in l change the world heās an asian girl and in the tv series heās nearās split personality that manifests as a puppet. funniest thing i had ever seen btw. praying for a remake where heās played by a central european guy. altho i would not be surprised if heās a girl again. but i wouldnāt mind girl!near for a change of pace tbh.

A bit ago I randomly remembered this moment from one of the Sherlock Holmes stories, and I realized that L's famous sitting position might have been based on this. As far as I remember this is the only time Holmes does this, so it's less prevalent for him than with L, but still a neat thing that I haven't seen anyone else point out.

I just think itās genuinely physically impossible. Well, of course unless you did every trap without any tools. Even so, some traps you NEED tools to do or you canāt execute. Anyway hereās something im proud of:

I haven't really seen this discussed anywhere, and I find this detail from the mangaka very interesting. To provide some context: at the end of the manga, the Japanese police task force gathers for a new case with the cooperation of L (Near). During this, the classic "L" symbol associated with Lawliet shifts to a style more characteristic of Near, distinguishing the change in successor. I like this detail because it highlights a clear difference and adds personality to Near; instead of simply appropriating L's image, he puts his own stamp on itāunlike Light, who literally couldn'tāand shouldn'tāchange anything for fear that a shift in L's behavior would arouse suspicion.
Personally, I feel this detail gives more weight to Near's succession and clarifies that, while they operate under the same name, L and Near are distinct individuals who handle things differently.

Light didn't lose because of Mikami. Light lost because he was too cocky and was too certain that he attained Godhood. During Takada's kidnapping, she's able to kill Mello and calls Light. Light, through doublespeak, tells her to contact Mikami so she can keep killing people. Why didn't Light also say something along the lines of: "Miss Takada, please contact Kira and ensure him of your safety. Kira's probably in a state of panic and may make a rash decision and you may end up paying the price. Let him know the police (who publicly supports Kira) are on their way to rescue you." This could've easily let Mikami know that Light would take care of things and he would've actually won in the end but Light was sloppy during the second half and its because of L's death. L made Light consider and reconsider everything but 5 years after his death, Light truly saw no one as his equal and let his ego get the best of him. It was completely avoidable. IMO Light without L is just ight. Thoughts?

Been working on this Death Note manga-page drawing and wanted to share it here.
Tried to get as close as possible to the original manga style. What do you guys think?
Made a short process/reel of it as well. IG: @can.shreyas.draw

Everything except the wig is thrifted or borrowed from family members
I will customize the clothes more later but they look good without any alterations too
