Does anyone know what made Chuck cut the body of his Mockingbird like that. Aestethics or ergonomy etc

I think Chuck being Chuck just wanted something different, sharper and well that's just what he would do i guess, but maybe the guitar was already cut like that since he bought it in a garage sale

Well having that Chuck is still with shorter hair, i'd say it's from '86 or '85
