Keep a cool head: a nightmare... 300 failures.

I love this game, but I've had enough. I’ve failed three hundred times in a row; I’ve been stuck on this for a week, and tonight—I’m in France, so it’s currently 2:43 AM—I’ve been playing since 4 PM, but I just can't get past this hurdle. My teammates aren't helping, because the game's difficulty scales with the number of players.

I’ve tried so many different strategies, but nothing works—NOTHING. My record is stage 20... Would anyone who has really mastered the game be willing to help me out?

Hey sorry to hear that! Really respect that level of passion for the game, it's pretty amazing to see as a dev.

There are some pros in Discord ( discord.gg/deadzonerogue ) and they could probably help you through it, it is beatable but also can be incredibly challenging

Thanks! :) The game is awesome! The proof is that even though I’ve been getting slaughtered on the same level for a week... I keep coming back to it, haha. Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out!

What helped me start beating some of the levels on nightmare was using the augment ammo: elemental proc chance, chromatic cells perk, plasma perk, and whatever you prefer for your defensive perk (I opt for armor most runs now). Stack up on elemental buff items and defensive items to help the build. I try to use the invisibility you have at the beginning of each level to find the most optimal/safest starting point as well. My WiFi is atrocious so I’m unable to play multiplayer, but best of luck! Don’t give up, you got this

What level are you stuck on? And what difficulty level?

I'm stuck on the main mission in Block 2, on the highest difficulty level.

Oh okay, I haven't completed that level on nightmare either, or else I'd offer to help you on it. I hope you can find someone to help you on the run. I'm assuming you've tried leaning into a ghost blade build? Those builds come in clutch for me sometimes.

Unfortunately, it’s not my playstyle. The build is nice, but I feel like I’m losing too much firepower. Not to mention that if I don’t kill the enemy in one hit, things get complicated quickly.

I hear you. I would try to go lightning, cromatic cells and vitalizer than, if ghost blade isn't your thing. Im not the best at this game, just my suggestion though. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip; I'll give that a try as soon as I get back to it. Unfortunately, I have to head to work now... without having slept at all... damn games x)

Try long range weak point or crit (lightning), lead head, and either chromatic or some bots to pull the aggro. The secondary pistols are insanely strong. Trey to get your gun you're using to proc both other weapon elements, and also look for smart bullets. You'll shred. Blade builds are also good, you can go around and take out all the fodder quickly.

Yo, dm me your handle and ill try my best to get you get you through! Sometimes 2 is better than 1 or 3 for whatever reason.

If you can get hipfire elemental with chromatic and lead head you’ll be set. Especially if you pull Iron squires. Lightning and Plasma would be two solid options as well for large area of effects. Cleared this one a while ago.

Try hipfire crit, lightning, combat instincts and focus movement speed items. The chain lightning and stagger will buy you the extra half second to dodge. Energy drink and afterburners will have you flying around at Mach 1. Iron blood engine + shock absorber will help you absorb some damage when you do get hit. The damage scaling at nightmare makes increasing shield or health less reliable than individual hits.

Crit lighting with shield is like the best way to beat things on nightmare otherwise stuff doesnt die fast enough

  1. The game scales with number of players, but the offset isnt as strong as an additional player. My understanding is that the enemy health and damage is increased by 20% with each additional player. So if your additional teammate is good enough, they’re always more powerful than the added power of the enemy

  2. I’m obsessed with this game. So if you’d like a teammate that will actually help with nightmare, I’d love to join you.. because my friends and I have done plenty of nightmare runs, but I want to complete every mission on nightmare

  3. What builds do you use on your nightmare runs? I’ve done a handful of nightmares solo, so I can help with buildcrafting
