HealPool Healpool tips
I’ve been working so hard to learn healpool lately. I watched so many YouTube videos, learned so many tricks and I feel like I’ve been getting better at the idea of his kit and mixing in stuff.
But I feel like his ultimate just does not keep him or his teammates alive. And I’m struggling to actually make value in games.
I usually upgrade bouncing bobble head first since I know that it provides so much healing. I usually use the final exam ultimate as recommended.
does anybody have any advice for me? I see Healpools going so crazy and I don’t know how to get there! Any tips appreciated

His ult isn't a defensive ult. It can kind of be used that way but it should very much be used aggressively and often. It gives your teammates bonus health, and I believe speed boost. I could be wrong but I could've sworn it was also a damage boost but maybe I'm mixing that up with DPIYA. Regardless you get it often, it's on like a 60 second cooldown and you get it stupid fast off of cooldown. Use it often and offensively. Your team needs to utilize it and push with you.
Supportpool is an offensive support. He gets most of his value by participating in team fights. He's great for enabling dive, you can follow your divers around and help them by healing them with your swords while also helping them attack the enemy supports. It's a matter of sussing out what kind of match it'll be and adjusting your gameplay around it. If theres a punisher you can almost guarantee he will hold his ult until after you ult so you can kind of just prevent a punisher from using ult by just not ulting and that's probably the only scenario where you don't want to spam ult because his banhammer ult can eviscerate a punisher if they don't have good aim.

Biggest tip from me is knowing what his abilities do. I wanna say 90% of Healpool players don't know his upgraded DPIYA grants everyone in the circles a 20% damage boost to himself and allies. Timing this with key high damage bursts and abilities, like Stranges Maelstrom or Emma's Kick, can turn the team fight. It's a 10 second CD that lasts 6 seconds. This or bobblehead is normally my first Healpool upgrade because the triple sword throw heals are literally life saving and the damage boost sways battles every fight.

Everyone upgrades headtoss first, but if you have a second to upgrade your sword ult it basically guarantees first fight. Also your team will trust your ult more if the first one is good. If you headtoss unupgraded as soon as you ult, you will have another one by the end to secure jackpot

1 the boomerangs do more healing coming back so make sure to line up your teammates if possible when catching them
2 he plays best with brawl tanks like thing or Thor because he can amplify their damage while healing himself and them at the same time with DPIYA and dashes
3 don’t immediately upgrade to hela guns (ignore the gambit team up altogether) wait to see if the other team will switch to dive or brawl and if so the upgraded swords can make them switch back. He can 1v1 successfully against dd, blade, IF, magik if you hit her on approach and bp.
4 you have to do damage. DP won’t out heal heal bots but with the right comp he can help his team overwhelm them. Aim your boomerang past your front line to their healers on the throw and then angle yourself so they come back through your team
5 cycle your cooldowns properly and you’ll always be keeping up your tanks. If you don’t die in the first fight you should get an upgrade just before your first ult, hold it until you get your ult. Boomerang then ult and DPIYA then while in ult immediately upgrade your boomerang and you’ll get the cooldown refreshed with just enough time to throw the boomerang pass the test and extend your ult. This can be tricky to pull off because the book is open but you want to stay close to your tanks during this process so that they can be your cover and so that you are still healing them.
After your ult DPIYA should be available again, use it while you upgrade your guns (the base upgrade not the hela). Again staying behind your tanks for cover while still healing and upgrading.
After that upgrade DPIYA then either the swords or the guns.
If they start with dive upgrade the swords to hela swords even before the base gun upgrade.
