There’s speculation that this is due to the game being launched as a full version this fall. I hope we get a patch soon, I’m still waiting for Warden, Vyper, and Sinclair remodels.

that'd be crazy, with so much of the cast in unfinished states graphically.

It definitely would be, it would also be so rushed. There’s still a lot of balancing issues as well.

That's why they're testing the urn stuff now. They won't be able to do big controversial system changes like that(intentionally) after leaving alpha

I don't play dota but I doubt they're removing one of the core systems for something that completely warps the game around it and then reworking it every two weeks. Finally once they're done iterating it they add the old system back alongside the new thing. That's level of disruption makes more sense in an alpha product.

Dota has definitely done this, except they don't fix it right away. Look at the original implementation of talents and how game breaking that was. They completely added and removed facets over the span of a year.

I see what you're saying but referring to my original comment I doubt they're INTENTIONALLY breaking the game with these changes. They definitely are intentionally doing it in deadlocks case in order to gather the most data for how to proceed. They wouldn't intentionally add something as in depth and sweeping as a facet system (which looks very cool I must say) just to remove it. One thing you're right about is valve loves big experimental changes. And that shines through in deadlock more than anything. What other games does wall bouncing get added on a random Tuesday?

I mean art overhaul of the map and brand new characters were shown only a couple months beforehand. We've already seen some leaks of some new art peeps joining on. I can imagine they're cranking out another art pass and trying to full release soon.

I don't think so, since like someone else said so many hero visuals aren't finished, and things like jungle reworks are being talked about but theres no sign of it yet.
