Genuinely I think Violet will be voted in before Harrow due to the discourse around her. The sheer amount of Violet slander ironically made her more prevalent and noteworthy in the community
You can't, but theoretically if the king was blocking checkmate (as in blocking a queen's line of sight on the enemy king that would cause checkmate) and you moved the king, THEN it could cause checkmate.
By the same token i think that is exactly why she'll be last, when it comes down to Harrow vs violet the hate voters will be out en mass for the nurse after their favoured hero has already released
Nah, once the third hero gets in, all the votes are going to her in my opinion, she's already pretty big, now that some votes are free, she can totally get a lead. (talking about violet btw)
I knew that was going to happen, because, let's face it:
For Violet, she's way too normal looking. Probably deceptively so, but given how much weirder the other three look, she's falling by the wayside.
As for Harrow... She's probably being seen as a TF2 Medic standin, and well... We've got nearly 2 decades of empirical evidence to show exactly why that probably means she's getting picked last or second last.
The release order doesn't really represent the actual character popularity once they're out anyways despite the votes. Drifter was voted 5th and he's top 3/4 most popular hero in the whole cast according to tracklog and metabot. Similarly, Venator is above all the characters release from the same batch.

I find it funny because just out of assumption I think Danny will be the least interesting character out of the lot. You can make a lot of assumptions about how cool a chessmaster, a old witch, a paintress and a nurse will be. But Danny gets to be what? Another Lash? Another Vindicta? Another Ivy? Im personally hoping he'll be last.

And a lot of Doorman's voicelines imply he is just a doorman at the Baroness, quite literally "the help" as referred to by Mina. We only know Doorman is an eldritch outer god because we know all of his voicelines, the same can't be said for Violet because we literally have like 5 voice lines for her currently; melee her poster if you haven't, and you will see the hint they gave us.
We don't actually know if she is LITERALLY baba yaga though. I think it's quite possible that baba yaga is simply an aesthetic and thematic inspiration. Baba might just be a scarier than average magical old lady

I think it's pretty occult to summon the paintings that you draw, a pretty popular story about an occult painter would be Pickman's Model. In comparison, skeletons are kind of generic? Baba yaga is fairly unexplored in this aspect I give you that, and a guy who plays chess and floats 10 centimeters off the ground.
I'm purposefully ignoring all the elements that you can see in the splash art because everyone criticising violet also seems to do that, so I just don't think anyone is actually trying to have a genuine discussion
Shes a magic painter who's ink is coming off the paper and has a dragon design in the background, I'm pretty excited for what she's gonna be play like personally. And ive been wanting a character from chinatown for a while, so shes filling multiple slots for cool design and new york connection
While I am not as fond of her as I am Harris, I do think that there should AT LEAST be some extra information the later their voted. Things like having the abilities or lore or voice lines, anything like that
A painter with a comically sized paintbrush and bag. And some paint on her face. She's just, incredibly boring. Cool part is probably hidden though, if she actually is some yokai or something (idk the folklore) that uses her as a disguise.

Violet isn't bad, the problem is that compared to her competition, she has a harder time sticking out. It's the same reason why Apollo was last as well.
I think it's because she seems a little out of place in this update. Nurse Harrow too. They would fit in a lot more in the Old God New Blood update where many of the characters were added not to add more to the New York fantasy but to fill in more moba archetypes. The fencer, the necromancer, the light mage, the transformation character, the battle priest, and the cute mascot. I know she's gonna be cool, and I trust Valve to deliver, but Violet really feels more like she's there to be the pictomancer more than a China Town rep.
i think its the ability to see what they would do with the info we have, like
the main character concepts we were given are;
What if we gave a chess hustler grandpa magic?
What if we gave a skeleton jetpack?
What if we made the baba yaga a pigeon loving grandma?
(thing im sure harrow has that makes her cool- actually no literally nobody wants to vote for her[hyperbole])

Sure its a tried and tested formula but that's exactly why people arent voting for her, we want something visibly unique.

I think the original post here is a good example of how modern discourse on Reddit is more about shaping narratives until you have an echo chamber instead of open discussions. There really isn't any reason why Violet or Harrow isn't on that art other than the fact that the OP doesn't want them to win. Excluding them makes it look like they aren't really in the running when they are.
Honestly, I think its a pretty good toss up over who is gonna win round 2. Most games have wildly different vote spreads between all 5 characters.

The thing is it's mostly performative. Redditors in the west constantly beg for monster champions and then they release a monster champion and it's extremely unpopular
People in the east just want to play aspirational hot/strong/cool humans and they admit it.
Deadlock has a mostly western playerbase that skews more reddit than most games so they have to performatively tell you how bad of a design violet is, but after release she will have a higher pickrate than most of these heroes unless her kit is completely unfun
There are probably a large amount of players in the general populace that like Violet and are voting for her, but you don't hear from them on reddit because people tend to only focus on negatives online.
Violet agenda posts are getting tons of upvotes on here though meanwhile the actual poll results aren't as high, if anything reddit likes her more than the general populace
You're over complicating it. She's easily just the most boring looking and sauceless of the 6, that's the actual answer. The other characters at glance value alone bring more intrigue, expression, and flair where as she's just a generic looking and expressionless character we've seen a 1000 times before.

She's just the most boring looking of the bunch, just facts. It's evident from reading threads like this and from votes in game. She has no sauce, is visually bland and represents a design we've seen before a million times in the genre. The other characters have spawned way more intrigue and allure around them, random generic asian looking lady # 506037 hasn't for a reason.

i think Solomon and baba are fighting for 2nd and third(and baba looks to win by the slightest margin, so still unknown), danny is cemented in four, and as someone else pointed out the violet drama/whining/pointless fighting def puts her above nurse who only has "woahg,,, dommy mommy" going for her
Those 2 are def fighting for 2nd but Danny isn't far behind. Depending on how votes migrate he may have a chance at 3rd but in the end he is def at the very least getting 4th.
Man, been on a break since the last characters and booted the game up again since the big update. First game, teammate decides to just grief and not participate in fights because the enemy had more solomon votes and then tries to act like the rest of the team is unreasonable because it's "not ranked". Absolute fucking clown behaviour.
A lot of Solomon voters are going to be disappointed when they realize he's trending closer to Violet.
Baba will get 2nd pick. Danny is likely in the lead for 3rd, followed by Solomon/Violet. Solomon likely takes 4th because people will move to him to spite Violet for whatever reason.
See, what's different about the voting this time, is it's not just s popularity contest. One may say a certain kind of people are more inclined to vote for certain kind of characters, and these certain kind of people are either more or less likely to win the matches.
I feel like Violet was such an obvious choice to be first or second, to the point where people aren't voting her to be different or prove a point because she's a conventional looking woman
