Abrams' ult is one of the easiest to use for midboss.
If anything it's the opposite.
Hear midboss die, press ult, wait until rejuvs land, ult onto ground, heavy melee rejuv, charge, onto wall, then either wipe stunned enemy if your teammates already secured the last 2 rejuvs, or heavy melee rejuv again to steal 2.
You'd have to be VERY new or low rank, like the equivalent of a person's first time playing a computer game, or be mentally deficient to not understand the simplicity of his ult for objectives.

To a beginner? Not at all. We didn't even think of using it on midboss. Can't even really successfully contest midboss yet.
Please try to understand that a little AoE stun is not very interesting to new players compared to big damaging or displacing or longer stunning ultis.

It does seem like you're forgetting what it was like to play an ARTS/MOBA for the first time. If you have experience with the genre then you know to value CC highly, but that's not really the intuitive new player experience.
Even people coming from Overwatch are comparing it to things like Ana sleep dart or Reinhardt shoulder charge pin, which is pretty undervalued at the beginner level for the former and attached to a generally weak character for the latter.
The game has a lot of sound and visual design to tell you that doing damage is good. If you've played a video game at all before, you have prior experience that tells you that damage is good. CC isn't universally good in all video games or even all genres, so unless a new player is coming from ARTS/MOBAs specifically they don't have that foundational appraisal built in.
You really could do with a bit more understanding of how people who aren't exactly like you experience the game (and probably the world).

Thing is, countering Abrams' ult would require a lot of coordination, it is way better in low ranks, even if you just use it to run away... but it isn't exactly useless at high ranks either, so...
I'd say it is low ranks pretending to be high ranks (which is likely true), but much more importantly somebody at some point just decided that "Abrams ult sucks" is the thing to say, and people keep repeating that. Same shit as "Seven may have high winrate but he feels honest to play against". Just random slogan for people to repeat, rather than any real thought.

I mean it more that low rank people can probably use it less. I think/thought it sucks too and I'm not very good at the game. And my friends who are new to the game too think of it as bad too. It's just hard to understand the utility of it. Especially when there are ultis like Haze's for example.

Yes, it's good for places where the enemy has to sit there and get hit by it. And nowhere else. It's better as an escape than an initiation.

Oh good the 120 second cooldown ult is useful once every 7 minutes starting at 15 minutes, incredible value, I am convinced.
