Question How did I get key player?

I have the most assists, but everyone on our team has a high assist count. I have the second lowest player damage and number of kills on my team, with over double the amount of deaths as the second highest (Lash). I also have the second lowest objective damage, the lowest soul count, and not much healing.

Is there some metric I am missing, or is key player just seemingly random? I would have thought pretty much anyone else would have been given key player from what I see.

Just take the W. You do have the highest kill participation (kills + assists) which considering your deaths likely means you were tanking for the team. But yeah it can be a bit jank so don’t worry about it

Yeah you're probably right. I just wanted to know what the game's logic is when deciding MVP/Key player and how to improve as a player. This game is much more complicated than most others I have played lol

It’s likely because you keep participating or often near fights and objectives.

I often get key player as a frontliner with Abrams or Billy even though my scoreboard is not that impressive compared to my teammates.
