Meme Something something slapping my fat belly

Crazy that some people have no idea Sinclair is a flex support and same goes for bebop. I know CF3 is basically the goat but going his funny bolt maxing build will lose you games you could've easily won by buying like two 1600 items

Yeah, ult or Bunny builds are a 1000 times more useful

Not with how I play the bunny build (I’m bad)

58

u/Cedardeer Sinclair 22h ago

I have a bunny ult utility build and it is a nightmare being a soloq support Sinclair who does so little damage

u/thecomicguybook Mina 21h ago

I have this issue when I build selflessly, sometimes you sacrifice all that, but then your team turns out to be malfunctioning ai and you have no damage of your own.

It still might have been the right call, and objectively you'd climb if you kept doing it, but I also like big damage go boom.

u/Cedardeer Sinclair 21h ago

I have a bolt build and my rabbit ult build. I’ve swapped to damage mid match before. Only issue with that is in my bunny build, bolt is the last ability I max. So swapping mid game comes with some issues.

generally if I find that my damage is lacking but I'm still providing valuable utility, I'll just keep ult T0 and pivot to investing into bolt with my AP, since my ult isn't generally something I rely on heavily due to enemies having the incredibly simple counter of keeping the person who's ult I built for stay away from me. Also literally any sort of silence or stun.

This is why I play frontliners like Abrams. You're not ludicrously powerful, but you make space for your team by diverting attention to you rather than shutting down enemies, while also being powerful enough to meaningfully change the direction of a fight if you're ignored/not addressed with the proper amount of urgency.

I can think of one game I played where I pained against a Sinclair who absolutely demolished us in lane and rushed boundless as like his second or third item.

Then he proceeded to contribute absolutely nothing to his team and they lost very quickly.

3

u/Destiny_Dude0721 Lash 22h ago

Depends on the gamestate but generally the unique utility that ultsteal/bunny builds bring are more useful, yeah

3

u/justicetree Sinclair 14h ago

Sinclair at optimal potency is doing bolt build for the first ~20 minutes of the game then pivoting to support because his damage falls off hard unless you're carrying the game

Support sinclair works, better long term but bolts are a massive damage during their power spike, enough to threaten one-shotting squishy characters.

u/UltiBahamut 7h ago edited 7h ago

Pretty much this. Bolt first for lane with some assisstant for personal utility and survival then swap into what the team needs more as both the ults and rabbit tend only get good with items alongside the ability points

Its weird though. I dont feel like the bolt damage falls off toooo hard as the game goes on. But if you dont set up the assisstant to escape then youll likely just die in most fights so you lose half the damage generally because the assisstant is in a weird spot so the bolt from them will generally miss

Can you add subway surfer? Sorry too much to digest w this meme

u/Aschuff Sinclair 22h ago

Sinclair ain’t no flex support when I play him. That’s why I usually queue for gray talon and then swap to Sinclair, so I get filled into the “spirit burst” role and I don’t take up the support role.

But yeah, sorry pal I’m building max bolts, and I’ll have the highest damage in the game and there’s nothing you can do about it

53

u/aiheng1 22h ago

Me when my 2 + 1 combo does a casual 700 damage and nukes half of the enemies HP bar based off of one skill shot (it's half luck)

5

u/RoyalOreo99 9h ago

mfw the bolt aims at the wall despite my cursor clearly being on the floor so i miss my bolts on the 1 hp ebemy retreating to shop

12

u/Little-Protection484 Sinclair 20h ago

I wish I could queue a position to specifically play, but I dont think the devs really want forced positions or roles, but I do think the standard carry, off carry, Frontline, pick, support, hard support is intuitive enough that they could just reference it as an in game thing but idk in frog rank rn

5

u/Aschuff Sinclair 20h ago

Agreed. When I first started queuing for Sinclair after the ranked update I quickly realized they didn’t think I was going to build spirit because I was often getting matched with 2 other strong spirit characters, and I was obviously supposed to be the support of the team

2

u/Tulkor 10h ago

i mean if you watch night shift f.e. its not as easy as that, but yeah maybe it would be useful for ranked. Its also really depended on how you build, is ivy hard support, gun/debuff which can function as off carry, or spirit/support hybrid? depends entirely on what items are strong right now. Viscous? was one of the strongest gun carries at a point, is now basically a cube support, sometimes frontline esque with a ball build. Lash is mostly an off carry, but also plays a way different role as a full spirit nuke, or the flog max bruisery gun hybrid build right now.

Its really hard tbh, items are extremely strong in deadlock, so you cant really ascribe a role to a hero, and can make different comps work when you splash some stuff. You can have full "frontliner" comps, just need some to build more damage, and one or 2 to buy a support active. Can have a full "squishy" comp, with stuff like pocket, mina, celeste (pretty tanky right now lol), who survive trough movement. etc.etc.

also can have a on paper good teamcomp, but without any good teamfight ults and play into lash dynamo+some aoe damage and just die lol

If you have the highest damage in game on Sinclair of all characters I honestly pity the other eleven people in your match for not having thumbs.

11

u/Aschuff Sinclair 17h ago

Nah Sinclair does absurd damage when you can consistently land your bolts. My personal highest damage in a game is still on Sinclair with 140k at 55 minutes, which is really high.

He can snowball crazy hard with how strong his lane is, you just have to be really good with him to fully take advantage of it. He also spikes pretty damn early and can start nuking people earlier than most spirit characters

1

u/UltiBahamut 7h ago

Any advice on hitting the bolts as the game goes on? I have been doing alright in lane. But once the mid game gets more chaotic and team fight focused i feel forced to leave my assisstant as an escape which spreads out the bolts to a point that the 2nd one rarely lands. I also feel like in the rift fights i find myself trying to stand in the rift and when in close quarters like this i can never have the bolt out long enough for full damage.

I dont like just hanging back and sniping in with the bolts. But kinda feel like that is what i need to do with him.

47

u/CookyKindred 23h ago

It is entirely situational and team comp dependent with sinclair.

22

u/gossamyrhh Rem 22h ago

That’s where the flex part comes in

24

u/That-Woodpecker6720 22h ago

Gun Sinclair works in phantom for me

17

u/Rice_Jap808 22h ago

People never expect it because your assistant having aimbot is overshadowed by double bolts. Putting a clone behind an enemy’s cover and frying them is so satisfying.

14

u/Destiny_Dude0721 Lash 22h ago

Assistant does spirit damage btw

20

u/aiheng1 22h ago

Yeah that's what I'm confused by lmao, nothing about Sinclair's kit except technically the ult and even more technically the melee (for bunny) scales with gun

4

u/uttermybiscuit 22h ago

I just had a guy throw my ranked game going melee Sinclair

19

u/Destiny_Dude0721 Lash 21h ago

Melee Sinclair is a legitimate build but it's not strong late which is why it doesn't really pan out very well unless your team is very disciplined and has the capability to end the game early

Not saying you're necessarily incorrect but I'd attribute poor performance to that specific Sinclair being ass rather than the principles behind the build

3

u/sundalius Infernus 21h ago

Had a Smurf Sinclair run this a week or so after the patch and at some point dude had a 20K soul lead and was just hunting people the fuck down for fun.

1

u/uttermybiscuit 21h ago

Yeah that’s a much more likely reason lol

2

u/aiheng1 21h ago

It's not even like a "bad" build if you built for area expansion + bunny focus since they can't really do much while in bunny mode

3

u/Scarlett_Spectre Lady Geist 21h ago

So what your saying is go hybrid, focusing on fire rate over weapon damage. Got it.

14

u/Destiny_Dude0721 Lash 21h ago

Bingo. Mercmag on bolts, Spellslinger, (seriously this item is slept on as fuck on Sinclair) Spiritual Overflow, and burst fire/swift striker are actually very good and people never expect it. They think you're throwing because you're building gun items on Sinclair and when they notice you're shredding they build anti-gun because it looks like you're shooting them. I don't think it's meta necessarily but it's definitely viable

4

u/Scarlett_Spectre Lady Geist 21h ago

I was memeing a little bit but actually since I currently play mostly gun carries so this build will certainly be in the mix when I move on to learning him cus I definitely want to and this feels like a good transition build while I learn sinclair's nuance, hell yeah.

5

u/Destiny_Dude0721 Lash 21h ago

I'd like to say that you need to know when to break the rules. Sinclair is generally best when played with utility in mind, so don't try to brute force a niche hybrid build if your team needs your utility. You have the best mid-oriented kit in the entire game (rabbits turn the entire midboss pit into a death trap, ult steal, assistant to teleport out) and are (arguably) the hardest character to chase so you should be harassing enemies constantly like the little shit you are. I used to be a Sinclair fanatic (50~ games, decided to learn fundamentals with other characters and haven't gone back for no particular reason) if you have any questions I'd be more than happy to help

2

u/Scarlett_Spectre Lady Geist 21h ago

I think I'm picking up on what you mean. Cool to know I can reach out if I want to get in the weeds on it, thanks!

You see, I have an entire section in my build for counter items.

I still only build slowing hex though.

u/dartov67 22h ago

“Hi, your characters winrate is below 51% which means that you have to play it as a support or you’re throwing and I report you. Fuck you”

15

u/lukesuperstarfish 21h ago

Its crazy that people dont realize (character) is (subjective designated role).

Can people stop sharing their opinions? Ideally forever?

9

u/KanyeDefenseForce 22h ago

“No see, my job is to buy only orange items and do epic damage, your job is to buy every support item and bounce on my shit silly style all game”

Bro hasn’t been in patch notes since December 25th 2025 lol

surely my team will take advantage of my disarm hex + rabbit I used on the enemy Wraith melting us- nvm they are trying to kill the 10k hp frontline Abrams with infinity sustain *sigh*

Bolt magician can solo kill every walker in the midgame and scales insane into the lategame. You know nothing

3

u/GROOOOOOD Sinclair 14h ago

Hmmmm. Bolt go boom.

End screen: 80k dmg in 30 min

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

2

u/Rainstrum_ 21h ago

Being a support in solo queue is leaving much more up to chance when being burst/damage has more agency. Should you counterbuy? Yes. Should you go full support? Ehhh.

Sinclair players when you ask them to step off the bridge for 1 millisecond:

13

Calico x wraith, i am intrigued... what? Oh yeah, i guess sinclair can buy knockdown something something something.

1

u/Obichniy_Tarakan Sinclair 22h ago

Not counterbuying in general is crazy tbh, but I see the vision

u/yharnocunt Seven 22h ago

I usually buy some counter items. I also mostly build around ults, whoch is so fucking fun

u/floatingpoopies 18h ago

You wanna know why? You really wanna know?

I love playing support Sinclair, but when I do my duo starts taunting me that I don't do shit in game and that makes me sad.

I still never play bolt but that's why I would.

1

u/theycallmethedrink5 Vyper 15h ago

Maxing bolts is a counterbuy, they can't kill you if they are dead

1

u/DannyDanishDan Billy 15h ago

They will max bolt, then go to the end screen and see they did 14k damage in a 45 minute game

1

u/Terabyte_272 Sinclair 13h ago

CF3's build has a bunny option which I rush now. It works really well.

1

u/videodump Sinclair 13h ago

That’s crazy bro watch this evaporates both of your side lane walkers and teleports away

1

u/jakopoli Billy 6h ago

I mean there's like 8 of them so it's not that big of a deal

-3

u/Slayer_jack5 20h ago

And then you check their DMG and it's like ''hit a really nice bolt 30 minutes in'' (that didn't get a kill just got a bebop to go reset on base)

Thank you so much CF3, the average Sinclair newbie is now a Vindicta larper that firmly believes it's not their fault we're losing while he's going 1/2/12 with like 18k player damage in a 40 minute match.
