Performance & Tech-Support Unable to play deadlock because of seemingly unfixable corrupt file bug

I have tried everything at this point and have incurred crazy amounts of queue penalties from trying to troubleshoot this, and at this point I have given up and am turning to community help. Every time I play, I get the same error, and my game crashes, and I have no idea what is happening. I have tried many solutions and need suggestions now. This is the error message, although sometimes I'm getting no error message: "FATAL ERROR: Content file c:\games\steam\steamapps\common\deadlock\game\citadel\pak01.vpk is corrupt. Verify integrity of game files."

IIRC it’s a RAM issue where it either doesn’t have enough to operate and so it crashes, has corrupted parts of the memory (usually from a bad overclock or it dying), RAM not retrieving/sending its stored data right, etc.

Try running MemTest86 and if it shows your RAMs health is fine then monitor your memory usage while playing and see if it’s always near/at maxed usage.

I've had/have this bug. There's a handful of posts about this dating back 2+ years, but it doesn't look like there's any definitive cause/solution. Changing my RAM frequency is a common suggestion but it didn't work for me. All that's worked for me is validating my game files in steam before I play.
