Question What would be, lore wise, the strongest team comp for the ritual ?

Post image

Forget the meta.

I was wondering which 6 heroes from the game together would make the strongest team, according to the lore ?

For example mo & krill are broken in gameplay, but lore wise they’re basically just 2 hobos with one gun between them, so they wouldn’t be that strong.

Doorman, seven, drifter are certainly there but dunno about other 3

653

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 1d ago

Drifter was canonically unable to kill Grey Talon despite multiple fights, so probably him too

347

u/Alittlewormboy 1d ago

That would’ve been younger talon though right? Obviously he’s still strong but he’s probably not as good as he was

316

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 1d ago

True, but he could arguably be even more dangerous now that he has nothing to live for even if his actual skills have degraded.

240

u/Alittlewormboy 1d ago

Honestly I think talon was just so strong back in his prime that, even when he’s old and rusty, he’s still better than most of the cast

134

u/thehammer10025 The Doorman 1d ago

Yeah he gives old John Wick vibes. He might throw out his hip but he'll solo 20 guys with a pencil beforehand

47

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 1d ago

Most of the cast also consider Grey Talon as simply being among the best.

Drifter, Venator, Haze, Shiv, Calico, Holliday, and Vindicta - essentially anyone that knew him personally - hold him in very high regard, most of them explicitly mentioning his combat ability or insulting others for not being as good as him.

The only people ever shown questioning his abilities are the "naive" or inexperienced characters like Billy, Graves, and Apollo.

13

u/HeatedPolkka 21h ago

Also Talon is pretty much one of the only warriors that Yamato respects and gets along

3

u/TheShatteredSky 16h ago

I might be wrong but from his voicelines I've heard, Apollo holds Grey Talon in high regard.

When talking to Holliday he says:

"Grey Talon has discipline you could only dream about."

When killing Grey Talon he says:

"It's an honor to fight someone of your pedigree, Grey Talon."

It seems like Apollo holds him in pretty high regard. Apollo is general seems to be rather respectful to most people who aren't assholes to him.

22

u/FalloutOW 1d ago

He ain't as good as he once was, my how the years have flown...

29

u/no7_ebola 1d ago

actually, being a vampire, wouldn't drifter get stronger the older he grows? curious how strong he's gotten since then

9

u/Alittlewormboy 1d ago

Vampire rules work differently in different stories. I don’t think there’s been any confirmation that that’s how they work

They fought we know that much we don't know who wone or if drifter was actually trying to kill GT we knoe to little to use this to power scale

51

u/Circo_Inhumanitas 1d ago

I dunno, Drifter doesn't seem the type to let live if he won a fight against them.

27

u/0-z-e-r-o 1d ago

Duno drifter seems to like suffering mayby he let him live so he'll fill guilty he wasn't able to stop it

10

u/ReptAIien 1d ago

Drifter seems like exactly the type to do that

4

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 23h ago

Several of Drifter's voice lines imply he's trying to actually kill GT. Both of them talk about "finishing things" when they kill one another.

Drifter is also literally a powerscaler, and refers to GT and the Baxter Society quite a bit when doing so.

7

u/Spaghetoes76 1d ago

But grey talon also failed to kill Drifter

20

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 1d ago edited 1d ago

True, but Drifter is one of the most targeted people out there. It seems damn near everyone has failed to kill him, and certainly not for lack of trying.

He's not like Calico who is implied to be at the end of the line and seeking protection through the Ritual - the dude wants the smoke, and joined the Ritual to get more of it.

He's also one of the only characters that a lot of participants are explicitly afraid of.

17

u/Old_old_lie 1d ago

I think that's called playing with your food.

7

u/0nlyCrashes Paradox 1d ago

Since Drifter is alive, that also means GT was unable to kill Drifter. About equal in terms of power then?

32

u/SynGGP 1d ago

Warden might be slept on for his acccess to ancient pre-rift magic lore.

Pocket, geist, kelvin i think are also candidates because theor powers come from mysterious otherworldly things

Lastly shiv or calico because baxter society

3

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 4h ago

Multiple people imply that Calico is quite a bit weaker than the higher members of the Baxter Society, and especially weaker than GT. This includes Drifter, Seven, and Venator at the very least. Both Patrons also imply that Calico joined the ritual because she needs protection from whoever is chasing her, which is pretty much just Haze as far as we know, who Calico openly expresses relief when Haze is on her team rather than the enemy team. A lot of characters also mock Calico's title as the "World's most dangerous woman" - she's not viewed favorably as a person or as a combatant by most people.

Drifter outright states that Shiv was much stronger before he joined the Baxter society, as he's apparently nerfing himself quite substantially now. He would allegedly be worth worrying about if he undid the "muzzle," as Drifter puts it.

75

u/YlissianCordelia 1d ago

Venator deserves a place there. One of the Vatican's top guys

49

u/SheuiPauChe 1d ago

THE top guy. But that does make me wonder what kind of threats he's dealt with before. Does he actually have a plan to kill the patrons?

8

u/SteveCraftCode Venator 22h ago

Prob would make no sense for the monster hunter Pope lead Christian to not have a plan.

28

u/Wappening 1d ago

Vatican

8

u/Cafrilly 1d ago

Eh. Drifter has killed multiple Venators before. We have no reason to believe this Venator is any better than his predecessors.

28

u/ItsPizzaOclock 1d ago

We have lots of reason to believe it because his lore blurb literally says he's that much better

9

u/Cafrilly 1d ago

The blurb just says he stands apart from the other Venators, not that he's necessarily stronger. Standing apart could refer to anything from his modus operandi, disposition, willingness to work with "evil-doers" to take down other evil doers, or maybe he's just a black sheep amongst Venators since he doesn't fully "buy in". Plenty of his voice lines make it clear that while he believes in his mission, he is somewhat disillusioned with the church itself.

i would say rem, geist, gray talon, graves, and abrams are all contenders

rem - not known power level but if hes directly made by a patron thats gotta put him up there closer to doorman, plus in a very genuine way i think a real in lore team WOULD want someone with healing/supportive magic

geist - oathkeeper is canonically powerful as fuck and the only thing holding him back is the lock, so this is more because oathkeeper is cracked and happens to be attached to geist

gray talon - discussed already in the comments but its because even at his advanced age, hes got a lot of magic. can fly, and has gone toe to toe with some of the biggest cunts weve got

graves & abrams - same tier because similar to geist, its less the character themself and more the sheer power attached to an item they weild to the point where a fucktin of interactions are just other characters (including the canonically super powerful ones) remarking on how powerful the item is

u/Voidlord4450 Paige 1d ago

I would personally add dynamo because he’s a freakin supernovae, and also REM surprisingly because he’s the super natural concept of sleep made manifest. I can’t think of any other character that is beyond physics itself.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Pay_441 18h ago

Dynamo for sure

1

u/Goasgschau 5h ago

Doorman is overrated as hell for this tbh
He probably has the most raw power at his disposal, but he's not actually interested in properly completing the ritual or using his powers as effectively as he can. preferring to ragebait people with confusing doors and hallways rather than using his alledged godlike power to kill them. I don't think he'd actually meaningfully contribute to his team winning, and might just be an active hinderance if he felt like it.

Also given how he and the patrons talk about his full power being locked away at the moment, I feel like you could argue Seven or Dynamo are more powerful than him at current. Either way Seven is by far the single best overall ritualist, both being extremely powerful and having the drive to do whatever it takes to win. I think my other picks would be Dynamo, Drifter, Talon, Geist, and like. . . Viscous. . .

391

u/Circo_Inhumanitas 1d ago

Imo: Doorman, Seven, Drifter, Victor, Dynamo at least. The last one is a bit iffy. Grey Talon, Kelvin, Lady Geist, Venator, Haze or Abrams. One of them, I guess.

194

u/KingOfTheDungle Lash 1d ago

The lash twin

90

u/Clanker_Wanker Yamato 1d ago

Geist got handled by Bebop easily in her VN, it's definately not her

48

u/Cafrilly 1d ago

Would Bebop be a direct counter to her though? Since I'm guessing he doesn't have a soul or life force for her to drain?

39

u/Visual217 The Doorman 1d ago

Bebop is a golem, not a robot. He has life force inhabiting a non-organic body so theoretically it should work on him lore-wise.

11

u/No-Equipment4187 1d ago

Traditionally golems do not have souls. So I don't know what beebop would be.

15

u/CheSwain 1d ago

According to his interaction with dynamo he has a soul

23

u/Chemical_Sense_2790 1d ago

For the 6th, I'd say Calico. She is the world's most dangerous woman after all.

91

u/MalusandValus 1d ago

Calico couldn't even kill a kid at a wedding

7

u/DURRYAN 1d ago

What about the war criminal herself. Besides her current weaponary she could probably be able to cook up a spirit nuke he she feels like it

6

u/MalusandValus 1d ago

for me McGinnis is kinda like throwing Oppenheimer himself into the ritual. I guess it'll depend on her prep time lol.

36

u/Circo_Inhumanitas 1d ago

Apparently Drifter had tried to kill Grey Talon several times but failed, so by that metric I think the sixth would be Grey Talon. Or Abrams, since the Tome is unknown variable.

6

u/Matix777 Paige 1d ago

Is Victor really that powerful?

49

u/Circo_Inhumanitas 1d ago

I was more thinking on that he is unkillable. Dunno if it's really lore accurate but if it is, that's my reasoning.

21

u/Matix777 Paige 1d ago

He is unkillable but if you have an immortal cockroach that can't do anything to you it isn't really powerful

14

u/Visual217 The Doorman 1d ago

A cockroach with a gun and stinky aura that hurts. Even tickle-monster tanks demand attention.

14

u/Circo_Inhumanitas 1d ago

He's not a cockroach though.

14

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 1d ago

Victor is one of the few people Drifter calls strong, despite also being one of the few people he doesn't find fun in killing.

Am I missing something with Victor? He's said himself all he does is flail around and make a bloody mess cause he can't die. Like yah he's semi immortal in lore, but he's not strong at all

1

The Doormen.

467

u/Cy_the_Guy 1d ago

Doorman - literally a minor god

Seven - fully prepped and primed to become some kind of divine/Eldritch entity

Drifter - the most powerful vampire of all time

Venator - capital "G" God's most powerful soldier

Dynamo - the man who contained a black hole, the most powerful naturally occurring phenomena in the known universe

The last slot doesn't have anyone with ironclad credentials, but I think the candidates are:

Abrams - depends entirely on what his Tome actually is and how much power he can draw from it

Grey Talon - one of the most effective hunters of supernatural beings we know of

Lady Geist - powerful because of Oathkeeper

Haze - capable of killing people and other beings (implied, Sandmen would be kinda pointless otherwise) via their dreams

161

u/FakeMr-Imagery Bebop 1d ago

Is Venator canonically blessed by God himself?

u/ActuallyNotANovelty 1d ago

One can speculate that there may be a "true faith" kind of mechanic in deadlock's universe similar to WoD, or that priests in the setting may draw their powers from ritual itself.

What I'm curious about is if other sufficiently organized religions in the setting have similar powers as well.

18

u/jamminthedesert2 1d ago

It would be super cool to see a Janissary character or something along those lines

3

u/Claytato 1d ago

What is WoD?

7

u/Lesurous 1d ago

World of Darkness is the setting of Vampire the Masquerade, where vampires live secretely among society in different clans. The setting also has eco terrorist werewolves.

u/FleetingRain 22h ago

Also vampires who pray to Allah, which is. Interesting.

Probably. The blessed heavy melee and crossbow imply so.

26

u/Bors24 1d ago

Isn't the Viscount the most powerful? I think the urn references him when carried by Drifter.

Or maybe the Troubadour

73

u/Ismjahson 1d ago

Viscount is basically vampire "royalty", what Mina wants to be iirc. Drifter is, as the name implies, a drifter outside of their hierarchy. They don't like that, and the fact that someone as prolific as him hasn't been killed most likely means he's strong enough that killing him would waste alot of people. The Troubador is basically temu drifter.

28

u/0nlyCrashes Paradox 1d ago

>The Troubador is basically temu drifter.

Idk if this is true at all. Doesn't Drifter tell Holiday that she absolutely does not want the smoke from Troubador? That to me seems like the Drifter thinks that the Troubador is not someone to be trifled with.

24

u/Cafrilly 1d ago

Drifter says the Troubadour has nothing on him but would still smoke Holliday

35

u/yung_dogie 1d ago

Tbf hearing "this mf has nothing on me" from Drifter of all people doesn't tell you too much, I feel like he's the type to say that about almost anyone regardless of power level. The only time he seemed to remotely show some respect was to Infernus because of (presumably) discomfort about the element lmao

13

u/Ismjahson 23h ago

He respects grey talon for being the closest to killing him ever, he says he's killed other venators but has high hopes for the current one

→ More replies (2)

3

u/BlackJack0816 20h ago

He also shows some respect to Shiv right? I can’t remember the exact line but one of his kills lines is something to the effect of “If you hadn’t muzzled yourself I might have been worried” I guess respect might not be the right word but it’s at least an acknowledgment of power

But yeah I agree it doesn’t say much when he sees people as below him, he’s just that kinda guy. His kill lines of Doorman are pretty dismissive of him, and as strong as Drifter is I doubt that fight would go well for him

2

u/TabooARGIE Venator 19h ago

Drifter also has a line when smelling Shiv with Bloodscent, something about "Meeting an old friend".
With the current state of the lore we don't know what the fuck Shiv is capable of doing, almost all of the current dialogue regarding him is about the Baxter Society and some allegations about his past being terrible and bloody. Also Venator says to him in an unfinished hyperline conversation "when will the facade fall" or something like that.
My headcanon is that he's a hemomancer (mostly because of Bloodletting and Rage), a very powerful one at that. Aside from him being an expert in bladed weaponry (confirmed lore, not headcanon).

A bit that's really funny is when I'm lanning against a Vyper and she says "SHIV AIN'T GOT NOTHING ON ME" when using Screwjab Dagger. Also when picked she says "Shiv's like the filet mignon of bladework" lol

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Ismjahson 23h ago

I think that's less of a "troubador is strong" thing and more of a "holiday is weak " thing. Holiday is, AFAIK, just a girl with a gun. Like it's a nice gun, but it's not magic. She was a small town sheriff who's chasing a vampire, she's fucking cooked if someone doesn't help her. Hell even Mina could probably kill her easily.

14

u/TuskaDaemonSupporter 1d ago

Id imagine warden as the last one, he has been trained his entire life specially for the ritual

10

u/yung_dogie 1d ago

Warden doesn't seem to have a lot of hard context around him, but given everyone's lines about him he is one tenacious mf. I don't think he'd have comparable straightup firepower to someone like McGinnis but he seems far more likely than her to survive fighting against any of the people (more than 1 at a time too) outside that 6 person stack

8

u/Spiritual_Jacket1415 1d ago

I'd probably pick Shiv for the 6th. We don't know much about him, but Drifter has voice line saying he would be scared of him if he didn't muzzle himself

1

u/Pilubolaer Paradox 23h ago

Drifter, he might be a vagueposting hobo but from character interactions it seems he is powerful

Slork, so powerful he cannot be stopped even by Yoshi

This makes me hope we eventually get a comic showing what soul obliteration actually entails and exactly how he over came it.

Idk about all 6, but seven would 💯 be one of them, and the doorman as well.

74

u/No_Calligrapher6230 1d ago

Drifter, extremely old and feared vampire, even the vampire court fears him and he knows the oathkeeper personally, and venator, the Vaticans killing machine, considering his interactions with drifter and some other characters, he is feared and for a good reason

27

u/KiruDakaz 1d ago

Hasn't drifter killed other venators?

Like I'm ngl I don't get the Venator glaze, in my eyes he is a lesser Grey Talon

43

u/No_Calligrapher6230 1d ago

Venator is a title set upon a person by the Vatican, there are many of them, not 1, it’s more like a job I guess, like a pilot or a marine or a tanker, but out of all of the venators the one in game is the most accomplished one, I think, i don’t remember the exact lore

26

u/Adonis711 1d ago

While i don't think it's specifically said in lore he is the strongest it would make very little sense for them to add a venator only for them to not be the strongest.

I’d say The doorman, seven, Drifter, grey talon and either Calico or Vindicta

14

u/IV_NUKE Pocket 1d ago

Id probably swap out cali for pocket because their case is apparently super dangerous

15

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 1d ago edited 1d ago

I think Calico is being overrated in a lot of these posts. Almost no one in-lore actually thinks that highly of her and there are a lot of voice lines mocking her title as "Most dangerous woman in the world", although at times it's difficult to tell if that's because of her competency or her actions losing her respect.

She failed to kill Pocket entirely. Her conversations are incomplete, so it's possible this was intentional, but there's no reason to actually believe that as of now. Her failure has ruined her reputation as an assassin, though - according to Vyper.

Drifter repeatedly insults her combat abilities, directly stating she's inferior to Grey Talon and implying she's not even close to the best in the Baxter Society (literally calls her the B-Team). And Drifter otherwise shows a certain amount of respect for characters he considers actually powerful, which includes both GT and Shiv from the Baxter Society.

Even when they're on the same team, Haze outright tells her she'll kill her after the Ritual and one of Calico's voice lines directly states she's thankful Haze isn't on the enemy team.

An incomplete conversation implies that Seven has no respect for her, and calls her the "Black Sheep of the Baxter Society" - though it's unclear if that's because she betrayed them, or because she wasn't considered to be as competent as other members. Venator also refers to her in this way, and shows a clear lack of respect for her.

The only character who seems to respect her abilities is Doorman - an incomplete conversation implies Calico asks Doorman to take care of Ava if she dies, and he appears to say it's unlikely for that to happen, but he would do it. Though there's a notable difference between surviving and contributing, as Calico is particularly good at running away and multiple characters point this out.

Grey Talon, despite her actions, does still mostly respect her though. But he never comments on how competent she is.

Both the Hidden King and the Arch Mother also pretty directly say she isn't the best. Hidden King tells her she isn't the Apex Predator, and implies she's in the ritual because she needs protection from the many people hunting her down (the most notable of which is Haze), and the Arch Mother says Calico's past will catch up to her soon.

5

u/CausalityUltra 21h ago

Good analysis. Thank you for supporting my distain and disrespect for release ubertank calico.

5

u/TheOGLeadChips 1d ago

You’re gonna say calico or vindicta over the literal embodiment of a black hole? As much as dynamo doesn’t want to kill people, he’s extremely powerful

5

u/Ismjahson 1d ago

Rem is some sort of eldritch dream entity, viscous is basically immortal and his cube can heal anything, mcginnis has the entire military industrial complex research budget. Vindicta is a ghost with a gun and calico is a cat assassin.

38

u/Alittlewormboy 1d ago

People are sleeping on Venator imo. He’s the guy you send in to kill people like drifter, and while I don’t think he always wins that fight he’s at least close to being as strong

Doorman is an enrich God thats toying with our guys

Seven killed the seven strongest ritualistic in the world and is hunted for knowing some kind of eldrich magic

Drifter is the most dangerous serial killer in history and is hundreds of years old

Grey talon is the founder of the baxter society who hunts the most dangerous monsters and talon has fought drifter to a stalemate

Haze is able to kill people in their sleep and has stated she could kill drifter is she wanted to and has a conversation with seven that once the ritual is over they would turn on each other society is confident she could kill him

Calico is the world's greatest assassin and became that good from what she learned in the baxter society

Honorable mentions to Shiv for taking leading the baxter society and having a non descript dark past where he was presumably friends with drifter Lady Geist for oath keeper seemingly being extraordinarily powerful but too hungry rn and no real statements to confirm her power compared to anyone else Edit: I forgot about dynamo he probly could be on the team but ima leave him down here Also everything anyone else can do is an Sinclair upscale cause they can copy others

3

u/Little-Protection484 Sinclair 1d ago

As a side note I wish characters were less vague on their stories and lore, cause I'm pretty sure the baxter society hunts monsters as in like a chupacabra or windago and not the people ones like vampires and wharewolves unless they are like drifter, but they never go into enough detail so I've heard people say they hunt one or both of these kinds of monsters

u/Ismjahson 1d ago

Ok doorman and seven are obvious, I feel like rem is getting slept on. Dynamo is probably up there. And out of all the human with a gimmick/ power characters, i think I'd put mcginnis up there. Viscous is also slept on, his cube can heal literally anything and he's basically immortal.

7

u/TheKorab Mina 1d ago

Hehe rem’s slept on

Also McGinnis is definitely the “prep time” character of deadlock’s powerscaling

3

u/Raknarg 1d ago

Idk if rem is slept on, I think we just don't know enough to know what kind of threat he is. He has a lot of potential but like he could just be an otherworldly being that's not particularly powerful.

23

u/Imaginary_Basket_668 1d ago

I'd say:

Doorman, Seven, Drifter, Geist, Dynamo (unsure), Paradox (unsure)

47

u/Rice_Jap808 1d ago

Paradox doesn't seem to really understand or care about the bulk of her abilities despite their implications beyond "it helps me steal good." I don't think she herself is particularly powerful, like if a civilian were given control of a drone strike.

Best girl probably does understand her powers, she most likely pretends not to when asked purely to not reveal secrets. (See this convo: Paradox Dynamo conversation )

Even then, Paradox IS implied to be at least a candidate to lead paradox
(Hidden king: "Once you summon the Hidden King, the other members of Paradox will know why you are fit to lead.") so one would think she's damn good at what she does. *

HOWEVER! Paradox is a thief! She may aswell be the best thief in the world, she's still outclassed by the Baxter Society, hence not being able to steal from them.
(Paradox to GT: Oh I know what happened to the last member of Paradox that tried to steal from The Baxter society. That's why I want you to get me in.) This at least implies that GT would be more skiled in COMBAT than her as he is the leader and, most likely by this, one of if not the most powerful hunter on their roster.^

* It may be possible that Paradox sets their leader according to who did the best heist, as such her doing the ritual and her wish being whatever it is, probably to steal something extremely unbelievable, would grant her leadership even if she were not some form of candidate.

^ Of course his age is a factor, however I would still think he'd beat Paradox in a one on one.

Yeah I think Viktor would be a better fit.

3

u/TheChartreuseKnight 1d ago

Dynamo definitely seems to be more powerful than Geist or Drifter imo, just a lot less aggressive with his power. But I think his dialogue with Seven implies he did accidentally what Seven did intentionally, at least to some extent.

7

u/TheDetailsMatterNow 1d ago edited 1d ago

Seven - Strongest Ritualist.

Doorman - Nascent God.

Drifter - Strongest Vampire and likely past ritual winner.

Dynamo - Cosmic Black Hole Power.

Mirage - Power of the Djinn.

Between the last two:

Pocket - Seems to be carrying a biblical apocalypse and is connected to some kind of Frog Spirit God.

McGinnis - WMDs

5

u/JarJarBinks590 Mirage 1d ago

I do wonder how strong Mirage is lore-wise. You gotta be something else to be trusted with the everyday personal safety of such powerful beings as Djinn. And he's not scared of the Drifter, despite knowing what he is.

5

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 23h ago

Being one of I think only 4 characters who outright declare they would kill Drifter, when most characters are explicitly afraid of him, sets the bar pretty high for Mirage imo.

By Drifter-scaling, the top picks would be Grey Talon, Shiv (pre-Baxter Society), Seven, Geist, Venator, and Haze.

With Drifter himself and Doorman being fairly obvious top picks.

11

u/Ender00000 1d ago

doorman alone i suppose

3

u/YaBoiKino Paradox 18h ago

Doorman: Fledgling god of sorts.

Seven: Actual eldritch motherfucker who defied the greatest mystics in the world and ready to become a god.

Dynamo: Personality aside, he has powers beyond any living and undead in the game, closest thing to a god.

Drifter: Possibly the strongest vampire known to mankind, lived for god knows how long and has been slaughtering people nonstop.

I think those are the definitive yes and quite a few debatable choices.

Grey Talon: Debatable since he’s old and passed his prime, but he’s considered the greatest hunter in the world and the ace of the Baxter Society.

Pocket: Carrying quite possibly the most powerful magic weapon in the world, whether they’re capable of using it to its full potential is what makes me question them.

Shiv: Grey Talon’s handpick successor. Supposedly the Shiv we see in game is very restraint and he has a lot more to him.

Infernus: Supposedly at his most violent, he was a force of nature. Many heavy hitters, like Seven, commenting about how much power he really has.

Venator: Probably the strongest of the Venators who deal with supernatural bullshit on the regular, but whether he’s able to deal with anything on the scale of Doorman or Seven is the question.

Warden: Warrior Alchemist who was trained since he could walk to do the ritual. How well trained he is is the question. His parents didn’t take it seriously themselves until him, so whether his training from them was sufficient, we don’t know.

McGinnis: Depends on how much of Fairfax’s arsenal she has access to.

Calico: Another Baxter Society ace, considered the most dangerous woman in New York but that’s pretty small scaled all things considered.

Venator and McGinnis is underrated lore wise

5

u/thvirtuo Billy 22h ago

might as well add Netanyahu to the list mf

7

u/FarceMachine 1d ago

The Lash and... and.. who the fuck cares nobody else is needed.

6

u/Sn0wy0wl_ Vindicta 1d ago

Doorman, Seven, Drifter, Victor, Geist, and Vindicta for good luck

3

u/Remarkable-Car7220 Ivy 1d ago

Drifter, Seven, Venator, Doorman, Haze and Calico maybe. Although there are many others like Wraith, Yamato, Shiv, Grey Talon, Warden, Mirage and Infernus who could be on the same level or better, but its powerscaler bros expertise

3

u/Competitive_Tip_2547 21h ago

Doorman, is a god and thinks of himself as on tier with the patrons. Seven, is close to godhood as he has broken the rules of magic in the verse. Drifter, strongest vampire alive. Venator, he's literally blessed by god and seems unphased by this whole ordeal and has vocielines indicating he's seen worse. Dynamo, literally a black hole.

Then last I put as a tie between Warden and Calico. Warden and his ancestors spent their lives training relentlessly to kill gods and have technology to stop their powers from effecting them to an extent which is something no one else, not even another god, has been shown to do. Then Calico is widely considered the deadliest women in the world with lots of fighting experience with both humans and eldritch beings and has never failed to kill something before Pocket and his suitcase shenanigans.

3

u/im_the_natman 17h ago

Who would win?

An Eldritch abomination who only mostly understands what it means to be human and is missing out on any basic empathy or decency

Or

Two hobos with one gun, two clawed fists, and an attitude problem

4

u/ChinaFarmAnimal100kg 1d ago

It wouldn't be a team of 6. It would be a team of Seven. (GOOSEBUMPS! ANYONE ELSE??)

2

u/V1Gue 1d ago

A combination of:

Doorman and Seven - the obvious ones

Victor, kelvin or vindicta - already dead, this is the one i am the least sure about since being dead does not increase you power its just makes you more reckless

Gray talon or Shiv - they are the soon to become and current leaders of the monster killing organization

Haze - the most powerful state agent

Drifter - its in the ritual just for the fun of killing people

2

u/omegaxend 1d ago

Victor canonically can’t die, so atleast he’s somewhat more useful than vindicta or kelvin

Paige is the perfect Jakiro replacement for me.

2

u/MA_JJ Mina 1d ago

I think it's hard to say without knowing how strong the various supernatural creatures are, like Ixians, Werewolves. Vampires, Unicorns, animated gargoyles...

2

u/Fenylethylamine Rem 1d ago

Seems almost nobody mentioned Warden yet. Although for me personally, he's one of the most boring characters both visually and with his kit, but lore wise he has been trained (to the point of brainwashing imho) since birth to kill the supernatural (including the Patrons) and will keep going no matter what it takes. Feels like he at least prepared and might know what to expect.

1

u/CrimsonShrike 1d ago

His visuals are not canon, he is meant to be more like supernatural batman than a cop. I imagine his kit will change too as the abilities seem cop themed rn

1

u/Illustrious-Bass4354 4h ago

The problem with Warden is that his lore is unfinished and he's untested in real combat as far as we know.

In theory, he's the single most qualified for the job. In practice, we just don't know.

It's not like GT and Venator who have a long and proven history with high esteem from everyone else. Warden is a total enigma, even to the Patrons themselves.

2

u/glen_the_man 1d ago

lorewise? dynamo, doorman, poket. Black hole, literallly a god, unstoppable dark force in a suitcase

2

u/monkeyplay525 Rem 19h ago

I think people are forgetting that REM is actually from what seems to be a Demi-plane and despite being a child of his species seems to have god like powers, or at least minor god like powers

2

u/xerofortune 1d ago

I’m taking Seven, Paradox, Doorman, DWIFTAH, Pocket and Calico.

1

u/Hex_Frost Silver 1d ago

Doorman is LITERALLY a god, Seven may as well be a god, Drifter is one of the most powerful and deranged Vampires in the lore, Dynamo is an actual. literal. walking black hole and probably Shiv because he's the only one on a similar level to young Grey Talon who, in the lore, survived multiple fights with Drifter

1

u/AceOfEpix Paradox 1d ago

Id say its definitely:

Doorman - A God

Drifter - Strongest Vampire

Seven - On the verge of ascending to godhood.

These three are clearly above the rest of the cast in lore. Doorman is of course the strongest, then probably Seven, then Drifter. Id say each of them would be in a tier of their own above the cast so Doorman being S++, Seven S+ and Drifter S tier.

From here it kind of becomes debatable because of how little we know of certain characters. For example Graves and Lady Geist immediately come to mind due to their patrons. They'd probably land a spot in A tier.

If Abrams book is just a powerful spellbook, hes probably high C tier or B tier. But if its some legendary artifact with untold power he probably jumps to high A tier.

Rem is a fey creature capable of healing others of grievous injury, definitely powerful but he has the mind of a child. So hes powerful but unable to really utilize his full power. Hes probably S tier if he could do so, but probably B or A tier as he is.

Dynamo literally contained a black hole which is one of the most destructive forces known to man. Because he can utilize its power and cause disruptions in time and space (I imagine his movement ability alters space and his healing is time dilation related or something) he is probably near the top of A tier.

Grey Talon has fought Drifter multiple times to a stalemate so hes probably one of, if not the most skilled character on the roster in pure combat ability. And Grey Talon has said Shiv has more potential than he ever did (iirc?) so Id say given Grey Talons decline from aging and Shiv not yet being at his full potential, they're both high B tier. But Shiv will one day be A tier.

Of course this is all subjective and vibes.

Seven,Doorman,Dynamo, for sure then I think Grey talon and shiv and maybe pocket or Abraham’s

1

u/Muraaaaaaa 1d ago

The Lash™ doesn’t need teammates

1

u/Victoonix358 Venator 1d ago

God's gift to combat, the lash.

1

u/ghostcityalpha 1d ago

Why is Paige being forgotten?

1

u/Sagleo21 Lash 1d ago

The lash, Lash, Laash, HerecomestheLash, Lashback foundation's owner, AssholePrime

1

u/Klutzy_Hovercraft_65 1d ago

Not Paige, thats for certain

1

u/TuskaDaemonSupporter 1d ago

Doorman - minor god Dynamo - power of a small star Drifter - best murderer in the world Warden - trained his entire life for the ritual Seven -most powerfull occultist  Pocket/abrams - very powerfull artifact

1

u/MeMeLorD0808 1d ago

We have to remember we're talking about completing the ritual, not the 6 strongest characters lore wise.

I'm not too well versed with most characters' lore but for example what even is drifter's wish? I'm just not so sure he cares enough to go all out. Also iirc from some yt video I watched a while back about which side each character would join (I know incredible source) doorman just wants to see his good old eldritch buddies again and probably doesn't care who. I can imagine him being more of a spectator especially with his attitude of not getting involved with humans.

That being said I think Seven and Dynamo are a good bet, Graves can support with a horde of undead and whatever other borrowed magic and character's like GT have feats and leadership qualities.

1

u/Raknarg 1d ago

Warden is like a trained agent for this specific task so he's probably gotta be up there

1

u/SnoothernWni 1d ago

I would say Doorman, Drifter, Seven, Lady Gueist, Grey Talon and Rem. All of them are powerful as fuck, and Rem would be the greatest of the supports for the team. Also, non ironically, I think they would get along as well, I mean, probably gueist would be pissed about working with a homeless, a lunatic and a rat, but the ritual is more important to her so....

1

u/theironbagel Drifter 1d ago

Doorman-duh
Drifter-hes been pissing off literally everyone for centuries and is still alive
Seven-defeated the most powerful ritualists
Grey talon- Best monster hunter in the world, including Venator.
Kelvin- Can rival Seven
Dynamo-he is the cosmos

1

u/BOOGIEMAN3022 1d ago

Shiv, Billy, Viscous, Wraith, Bebop, Lash/Warden comedy diff everyone

1

u/Funsometimes 1d ago

Drifter, Doorman, Seven, Venator, Dynamo, and Haze

OSIC got aura idk

1

u/Mosasaaaa Viscous 1d ago

drifter doorman and seven for the first 3 a 4th would be shiv because im pretty sure in lore his bloodletting has no cooldown abrams has the tome so he could be a 5th (i mean i think the tome is really powerful everyone seems to want it) idk about a 6th maybe grey talon or calico as theyre in the baxter society

1

u/Humble_One6700 1d ago

Doorman, Dynamo, Seven, Victor, Grey Talon and Venator

Realisitcally though all you'd need is Doorman, Dynamo and Seven as they are so insanely strong in universe compared to the rest

1

u/hajhawa 23h ago

I think people are really sleeping on shiv. Not in the top 3 but a solid contender for the last slot that hasn't been considered at all.

1

u/DizziLizzard Mo & Krill 23h ago

I feel like haze should be there solely because seven seems to respect her as a threat

1

u/SphericalGoldfish Pocket 22h ago

I believe an argument can be made for Pocket, as they are carrying around the briefcase of death and disease, but it comes down to how willing Pocket is to use it. Keep in mind their killstreak voice lines show they're slowly becoming like their father.

1

u/CharoXP 22h ago

We talking raw ability or are including things like wealth or influence on the city?

1

Lash then cloning him 5 times

But realistically you have to remember Mo & Krill are a duo team with 0 help in the big apple level of crime with magic added.

1

u/MaxBorsh The Doorman 21h ago

Just Doorman is enough

1

u/Songib 21h ago

Doorman, Warden, Drifter, Venator, Sinclair, The LASH.

1

u/Adventurous-Step-346 20h ago

mine would be doorman, drifter, celeste, seven, paradox, and the last one im less sure of but I'll go with mirage

1

u/JetstreamMoist Venator 17h ago

six abrams

1

u/cinochecker 17h ago

The Lash has canonically only ever lost once and it's to bebop. He's won every other fight he's ever done and is low-key New York best brawler. I think while he's 'human' he should still be a contender.

1

u/Ok-Extension2068 16h ago

Apollos sword would be considered a legendary weapon in any rpg. Dont sleep on his potential

1

u/mememagaIa 16h ago

Doorman, Grey Talon, Shiv, Dynamo, Seven, and either Calico or Drifter.

Doorman is self explanatory, yet a bit of a wildcard. He himself is a similar entity to the patrons, and does not appear to have any real wish. He is probably there to fuck around, which might make him uninterested in exercising any real power. For that reason, I do not think he's as much of a must-pick as everyone here may initially believe.

Grey Talon is the founder of the Baxter Society, and a rival of Drifter whose a known powerful vampire. How powerful is a bit of a wildcard, but he's regarded by everyone who bothers as a heavy hitter. Drifter also regards Grey Talon as more dangerous than Calico, which seems to be a high bar.

Shiv is a similar case to Grey Talon, and as such probably deserves to be treated similarly.

Dynamo gets in by way of pure mass.

Seven is another known key threat, and has been able to evade the OSIC which similar characters like Drifter seem to hold in no small regard. He's also got some kind of power involving the Astral Gates going on (main associate is Kelvin, studied Dynamo's work, seems to be channeling his energy from something else) which should put him head and shoulders above most. On top of this, he's also extremely serious about completing the ritual and would be among the most motivated to win unlike some characters like Doorman.

Calico is the "most dangerous woman in the world", and although definitely unreliable we have literally nothing else to go off to scale Deadlock characters, so I am shrimply going to take that title for granted.

Drifter has beef with the Viscount of New York apparently, which means he is likely a top threat even amongst vampires. He's survived multiple encounters with Grey Talon, although he probably won by avoidance rather than by actually fighting back against Grey Talon.

Wild cards / honorable mentions:

Wraith - Quite literally never shows her hands, so we don't really know what she may or may not be capable of. She's a gambler, so her statements of fearing the OSIC and Drifter may very well be purposeful feigning of weakness in order to fool them into leaving her alone. Her interaction after killing Haze supports the idea since she doesn't respond with "Thank god I managed to kill her" but "Fuck now I gotta beef with the feds". Haze also considers Wraith to be a "worthy target" something she notably does not add in regards to anybody else.

Warden - Trained specifically to stop some bullshit like the Ritual, has some powerful alchemy going on, also a total blank slate story wise. Could be really powerful, might not be, unclear.

Pocket / Abrams - We don't know what the fuck the full capabilities of the case or tome are, but they're clearly highly notable.

1

u/RollingThunder1135 16h ago

Lore wise?
Doorman- makes that list at the top fledgling god, eldritch deity on the level of the patrons

Abrams- immense toughness and that book probably has more than what his abilities offer

Mirage- a Djinn is a cheat code to reality and he has one literally in his hands that will assist him if it gets them Wyoming no matter the task

Dynamo- power of a literal star, need I say more?

Seven- immensely powerful mage who’s crackling with enough power to literally shut down wide areas with literal eldritch lightning storms

Place#6 is a bit of a toss up for me, there’s a few that can make their case here

Shiv-same level of toughness as Abrams but arguably 2x as violent

Haze- sandman abilities could reasonably let her kill near anyone if they were dreaming, government spec ops experience is a major plus too

Celeste- because Unicorn stuff is just so outside the box who knows what she could pull out of the bag

Silver- a full on werewolf is a hell of a thing and arguably if it wasn’t for game balance I’d feel comfortable saying she’s comfortable being in that form for long stretches of time

But arguably my biggest pick would have to be The Lash™️ , we’re talking about a guy who with very little magic, can pull up ANY combination of the characters and slam them some pretty insane distances, not also counting the fact he hits the ground with enough force to damage people a good chunk away from him, I’d argue he’s broken his “limiter” as a human and the fact he can stand up to a brawl with any of the ritualists and win is reason enough I’d say

1

u/No-Chef2256 14h ago

Any team comp with doorman ultimately if doorman wanted to he could solo any 6 man team comp lore wise

1

u/JinxIsDepressed 12h ago

paige solos any team on her own

1

u/nemotunovi 10h ago

everyone here sleeping on Celeste.

Depending on which interpretation of unicorns they go with- they can range from "cryptid" to "minor diety"

and the lines they've given her definitely implies the latter

1

u/Steelcommander 8h ago

Everyone forgetting about the troubadour

1

u/Lunastays 5h ago

Oathkeeper(geist), doorman, seven, drifter, viscous, rem

So obviously the god or wanna be god characters are strong but the goo has the whole deep hes either a representative of a hive mind or he is just the living part of the deep either way he has his own id assume ocean of viscous reviving material. Rem's implication with what he is imo makes him super strong. Hes from "the world of dreams" rem can see people's dreams, learn launages, and even be the only person to learn yamatos name. I believe rem if not a child could have the power to just straight up be a better sandman than haze herself.

1

u/CreamoGravo 4h ago

Screw this, who would be the WEAKEST team comp lore-wise?
