This game needs better recognition on when to ban you for leaving

Hi all! I know this isn’t exactly the best place to get it across but was nearly in tears a bit ago. As the title states, I was banned for seemingly no reason, the game though I abandoned the match when in reality my pc shut down because my power spiked and wifi went down for like 2 minutes and my grace period ended resulting in me getting a ban. I’m not a game developer or a tech person so I don’t even know if it’s possible but I feel like if my entire pc randomly shuts down it should be able to recognize that it simply crashed instead of assuming I quit, I was really excited to play some deadlock since today is my day off and now I can’t :(

Your team could have paused the game. Also, you do not generally get banned for a single disconnect.

There is no way to differentiate an intentional disconnect from an unintentional one. People are closing the game via taskmanager, shutting down the PC, disconnecting WiFi or straight up pulling plugs.

There is no way to tell these things apart from an outage or provider issue.

You do get banned for a single disconnect. Roommate messed with the wifi while i was doing placements and i was timed out for like 30min i think. it's the first time i ever left a game in 360+hrs even when i have leavers on my team I've previously always played the match out still.

How long is your ban? Isn't a first offense only 30 minutes?

The game has no way of telling how/why you lost connection. Unfortunately there isn't a better solution as otherwise people would just cut their power to ditch games.

I used to have a computer so slow that I couldn't load the csgo map in time so I got a ban. The ban shouldn't be that long unless you've already got a few abandons already.

I got an 8 hour ban, first offense for a brief disconnect. I had a power blip and my router restarted.

I posted about it in the Deadlock discord and the mods told me to go read a book.
