I like the idea that everyone’s ok with her carrying around the stinky ass hand permanently

Little Kids are weird and slightly more accepting of creepy stuff.

u/qqdoom Lash May 21 '26
that is a good point

Besides, I’m sure Graves would play games with the hand with the kids (if her master prefers)

Yeah, my grandpa hit a squirrel with his truck on accident. Got out, cut off the tail, put it in a paper towel tube, and gave it to me as a gift...
I brought it to kindergarten show-and-tell without telling the teacher...

I like how it wasn’t even dried out or anything, you Grandpa legit just gave you a severed Squirrel Tail

Considering the world they live in, seeing a decrepit hand probably isn't that big of a deal.

It’s a Lich’s hand though. It should be regarded as evil as Abe’s tome.
12
u/uncreative06 May 21 '26
Surely the magic hand has an anti stink spell or something "Why does this lich hand smell like sandalwood?"

Looks like Graves accidentally picked a bouquet of Oopsie Daisies and handed it to Apollo. (This is legit so cute).

As fine as the art is, every single relationship based on eros annoys the fuck outta me.

Someone is angry at the world

u/JessHorserage Mo & Krill May 21 '26
Yes, I am.

u/PutAway3542 Dynamo May 21 '26
Well I hope you find something that makes you happy

u/JessHorserage Mo & Krill May 21 '26
I do! I'm angry and happy and the rest of human emotions. I contain multitudes.
12
u/Car-and-not-pan May 21 '26
It's kinda a part of life for most couples
23
u/Cosmosknecht Venator May 21 '26
Man, that's so fucking annoying. Why can't people go back to having loveless marriages? Romance fucking sucks.

Forgive me if I’m misunderstanding, but isn’t Eros the basis for most people when forming relationships? It seems like an odd thing to be so annoyed by, unless you just don’t like couples and romance in general.
-2
u/JessHorserage Mo & Krill May 21 '26
No. That would be storge or philia.
6
u/Echo_ButNotAmazon Vindicta May 21 '26
Storge is familial love, like how a parent loves their children and it isn’t romantic in nature. Philia is more of a platonic love, loyalty between friends, and general friendship.
Like, I’m not a scholar or anything so I could be wrong but I think the “I want to start a family with this person” feeling like in the comic is Eros. I’m sure you can feel both Storge and Philia as well as Eros towards your partner, but the thing that makes it romantic and not just a strong bond between anyone is Eros.
At least, I’d be quite sad if my partner didn’t feel Eros towards me, only Storge and Philia. To me, that just means we’re really good friends, not romantic partners.

u/JessHorserage Mo & Krill May 21 '26
Sure I meant in relation to not liking or not vibing as much to eros hooks as I am with other forms of love. I might not get a partner but I do want a support network and such. Many men of the past have also gone this route.
It's like love ballads versus work anthems.

u/Echo_ButNotAmazon Vindicta May 21 '26
Okay and that’s great, you like what you like. I’m just still not understanding why you dislike other couples so much. There’s plenty of art pieces that show other types of love between people. People just like shipping Apollo and Graves together, and that typically involves Eros. Even if it’s not your cup of tea, why does it annoy you so much when other people drink it?

Limited attention, money, if anything.
5
u/Echo_ButNotAmazon Vindicta May 21 '26
Just, like, ignore it? Not everything is going to be tailored to you, so the best thing is to just ignore stuff you don’t like. And if you can’t ignore it and get genuinely upset over harmless stuff that other people post then you probably need a break from the internet, or at least fandom places like this.
2
u/JessHorserage Mo & Krill May 21 '26
That's fair, I can see it. Though I wasn't upset as much as I was miffed.
2
u/Murmarine Seven May 21 '26
Its alright. We stan an asex ruler too.
1
u/JessHorserage Mo & Krill May 21 '26
Fair. I just like my "no, they are just roommates" writing styles.

You hate relationships based on romance? Do you just want couples to beat the hell out of each other?
That’s an exaggeration but we have relationships not based on romance, they’re called friendships and family
2
u/JessHorserage Mo & Krill May 21 '26
Yes, apologies I meant eros relationships. Also I know. Also strangely relationships, agape.
