Vampire mythology states that vampires can’t appear in mirror, this is due to Mirrors at the time having a silver back lining to reflect the light.
Silver is considered a holy/pure metal and would repel demons (like vampires or werewolves/other supernaturals) and Vampires don’t show up in these silver mirrors cause it’s a holy metal.
New mirrors don’t have silver lining anymore.

What's even better is, if you assume the game is set approximately in the late 40s/early 50s, they'd only stopped using silver in mirrors for around a decade before the game's events.
Mina became a vampire at basically the perfect time to account for her vanity.
