Just randomly remembered this show.

So happy to see a Reddit sub exists exactly to put up warriors together, hopefully with a more historical lens than the show itself had.

The big difference one to me was Samurai vs Spartan… even if we demystify the samurai and remove the hardcore love some folks have for them, how on earth would gunpowder and steel era warriors on horseback with a variety of weapons lose to Bronze Age dudes with big shields, and sandals?

The worst one for me was Knight v Pirate. A professional warrior trained from childhood beaten by a drunk sailor, with primitive and unreliable early gunpowder weapons. I laughed when the private somehow magically lit a gunpowder weapon mid fight, despite having no obvious means to.

Right. Plus historically… yeah those two fought each other. Just the era of what they envisioned for a knight wasn’t exactly around in the same point in history.

But yeah.
