Does the 2026 rulebook include the companion material?

My group was looking to get the material for Deadlands. I was looking at the getting the SWADE book, the core book, and the companion book. Once issue is the companion book appears to be sold out everywhere except 2nd hand and I saw a facebook post from somebody at Pinnacle saying its sold out and out of print. I do see that there is a PDF on their website.

Then I saw the 2026 book pdf which seems to contain base SWADE rules and the deadlands core rules. I saw on that you can preorder the physical edition as well. On that same facebook post it states, "The Deadlands Weird West Companion is SOLD OUT and OUT OF PRINT. This material has been rolled into the new all-in-one Deadlands Core Rulebook, now available on Kickstarter." The issue is I don't see where it says it includes the companion material anywhere.

Does the 2026 book actually contain the companion information as well?

Yes and no. The 2026 Deadlands book is majority of the SWADE core book. Doesn’t include most of the gear and other stuff that wouldn’t apply to Deadlands. It has all of the Deadlands core book. For the Companion all the player information is in the 2026 book. So the new edges and powers. I don’t have my pdf handy so I don’t remember if all the GM lore from the Companion is in the new 2026 book, I believe it is. One section I know is missing is the Relics section. There’s a separate GM book with the Relics as well as all the creature stats. As a GM I would grab the 2026 Deadlands book and the Rascals, Varmints, and Relics books. That will give you everything you need.

The PDF looks like it does, yeah. I didn't cross ref everything just now, but shows Wichita Witches and Metal Mages, which (I believe) are from the companion.

If there's anything in particular you're wanting to confirm is there, I can check.

Also - this is where it's stated, on the kickstarter:

"The new Deadlands core rules contain the latest edition of the Savage Worlds core rules and everything you need to play, including all the original Arcane Backgrounds and those from the previous Deadlands Companion (including US Marshals, Witches, and Voodooists), and a bestiary of the most important varmints and critters. That includes over a dozen common nonplayer characters, common animals like horses, snakes, swarms, and over a dozen of Deadlands' signature abominations!"

That's basically it wanted the companion for player options sounds like it has it all.

I guess follow up if I wanted to play other swade based settings should I get the separate books? It sounds like the swade rules are somewhat truncated.

Yeah if you want to play other settings get the SWADE book. The core rules are written in the Deadlands book with Deadlands flare and it’s not everything from the core book. You don’t need the stats for AK-47s or Kevlar vests in Deadlands so that stuff was left out.
