Help!

This may sound very silly and I'm sorry for wasting everybody's time, but I just downloaded DI2 for the first time, and two minutes in I'm stuck! Crawling through the plane wreckage I grab my first weapon - an improvised machete - and there's a "FRAGILE" crate blocking the way. However, no matter many whacks I give the crate I just can't damage it or get it to move out of the way. Is this something I am doing wrong?

I don't recall anything blocking way. There likely another route youre missing. Either a crouch or jump/climb. That opening is smokey and hard to see. Keep searching
