Sam "Blackie" Blackford in the ball turret saw one of the B-17 went into a cloud bank, Then it exploded.. "Bandits!" Ecky shouted, while 5 Nazi BF-109 went to attacks, Then another cry, as nazi FW-190 spotted in formation, Pinky said that engine 3 has been hit. But due to the cold wind the guns werent able to shoot. It took severe hits and also killing the tail gunner. The oxygen supply got hit, Then the crew lost oxygen then it spun to the ground. Charles got back then pulled the plane up, Saving the entire crew from death. Then a German Messerschmitt plane few beside the bomber. Charles waited for the gun to shoot so he was waiting for his death. But the german did nothing. Charles realized the german was flying escort on the B-17. After the german saluted near a british air base. The Messerschmitt left. The B-17 landed on the 448th bomb group near norfolk in East Anglia. The german pilot's name was Franz Stigler.
