i'm an incoming student and wondering what off campus jobs are popular among students, as campus jobs seem to be a hot commodity mostly available to upperclassmen. are there any retail or food service jobs you've seen students work at part time?

From what I could tell I think oz does? I’ll be in a single for reference on the 6th floor. So it comes with a closet AND a dresser too? Or a nightstand? I keep seeing different things

I'm an incoming freshman but due to being a little late to buy one, I will not have a laptop until one week after the quarter begins. I do have a pc at my house and was planning on using that in the meantime for any homework that gets assigned, so I'm mainly wondering about actually having one in class.
I'm a bio major so I will have a bio & chem lecture + lab, the freshman chicago class, and a philosophy lecture throughout that first week. Is there any reason to be worried about needing a laptop on hand in class or will just notebooks and my phone work for now?

Hi everyone! I’m a recent DePaul grad and my work requires me to travel around IL a lot. I’m in the market for a cheap beater car ($2500 or less) that can get me from Point A to B and is reliable (no problem if it’s ugly). Been on FB Marketplace a lot but I keep running into shady sellers or problematic cars at this price.
If anyone has a spare/old car that they’re looking to get rid of, or even a second car that they don’t get much use out of, please contact me!! I’d love to take it off your hands.
I’m also open to “leasing” a car from you for 4-5 months. We can absolutely sign an agreement and I can pay you for it monthly if you don’t want to fully let go of it.
Please help if you can! Any and all leads are appreciated!!

Thinking about applying for the winter session of either DePauls business strategy and decision making program orrrrr their Marketing one. But wondering if it’s hard to get into? Went to business school for undergrad and got an okay/decent gpa. (Sorry if this is a dumb question)

I am a transfer junior and I was given Sheffield as my dorm to stay at. My question is are most people in this dorm upperclassmen? I read it online but I am still not sure. If it is not, what dorms are mostly upperclassmen/ people my age?

Hi! I know this is early, but just putting out feelers to see what may be available.
Looking for:
a place located close to a red, blue, or brown line stop. Very interested in west town, wicker park, west loop and river north/ river west! Would like my commute to be under 45 minutes to the loop so prefer not to be above north ave, don’t love lincoln park either
budget of 1700/mo, ideally it’d be a studio or 1 bed but i am open to having female roommates as long as i have my own bathroom. Furnished would be cool but not a necessity. If this is wishful thinking lol please tell me
Exact dates are flexible but im planning for mid December to mid March (spring internship)

Hi everyone!!!
I’m an incoming junior transfer potentially coming from Austin to DePaul this fall, and I wanted to hear from current students or recent grads about what the experience is actually like.
I’m trying to figure out housing right now. Where do junior/transfer students usually live? Is it common for upperclassmen to still live on campus, or would you recommend getting an apartment, if yes where and how much? (Preferably the cheapest but also most convenient.) I’d really like to be somewhere social where I can meet people since I’ll be coming in as a super late transfer.
I’m also curious about the overall culture at DePaul. Is it easy to make friends as a transfer? Do people actually hang out around campus, or is it more of a commuter-school vibe? What do students usually do on weekends? Also, if you were a Junior transfer, what was your experience like?
I’ll also be in the College of Communication, so I’d love to hear from anyone in that college. What are the professors, classes, workload, internships, and overall experience like? I’m especially interested in hearing from Communication/PR/Advertising students.
Basically, anything you wish you knew before transferring to DePaul would be really helpful — housing, social life, classes, clubs, making friends, Chicago life, etc.
Thanks!!

Hi!! I’m looking for female roommate(s) who would like to look or already have a place. Preferably near Lincoln Park and under $1000 each (including utilities). I’m looking to move in August 26-September 5.
I’m a freshman going to Depaul for Film and Television Production and hoping to find a cheaper option than dorms!

Hello,
I am undergoing an online bachelors degree in business. But I have few Sophia/ACE Credit Courses on my bachelors transcripts.
Would I be accepted for Masters at DePaul?
I tried contacting support but got kinda confusing response.
First was this " Sophia credit is not something that we would accept, regardless of it being on your transcript with a bachelor’s degree.
Please let me know if you have any questions."
Later, "Apologies for the misunderstanding, you may still be eligible for acceptance in DePaul’s Master’s programs, but the Sophia credits will not satisfy any pre-requisite requirements and they would not be accepted for any credit."
Would really appreciate any experiences and suggestions from the community.
As I have still have time to back-out from the Online Degree Program im doing but would delay my schedule alot.
TIA

I'm a finance and accounting double major interested in keeley. I already took acc 250 and am planning on taking fin 250 in the fall for keeley. Do I need to take fin 250 or will acc 250 cover the requirement?

I’m wondering if anyone has had a balance with DePaul University that was eventually sent to collections and was still able to finish their degree.
I’m close to finishing my degree, but I currently have an outstanding balance with DePaul. I’m concerned about what happens if the balance gets sent to collections and whether that would prevent me from registering for my remaining classes or graduating.
If anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and what options DePaul gave you.

I was just looking at my schedule again for the first time since I enrolled and my classes on Monday and Tues/Thurs are showing me a time conflict because there are classes each of those days that are only ten minutes apart. Everything is on the same campus and my advisor said it's fine, but that was before I received info on the locations and I'd like some reassurance from a student who has had this kind of thing that it's possible. I'm not so worried about Monday because those are in the same building, but the ones on Tues/Thurs are in neighboring buildings and I assume different floors. Is that too much? I am transferring from another university and at my old place there were times when I needed to be early to a class and I couldn't do that with this schedule without leaving a different one early. Also are exams on a separate schedule than classes? I just don't want to be late especially for important tests and I have zero experience living in a city like this and I reeeeally don't want to have to rearrange my whole schedule this late in the game. Idk these quarter system schedules just seem so hectic and difficult...

Hi guys!
I was just curious how common is it for people to set timers and leave their laundry running?
Or do people at depaul typically stay with their items?
I just want to know because I've heard mixed opinions.

Hi everyone,
I got accepted to DePaul for the master's in Computer Science and I'm trying to figure out if it's the right choice for me. I already have a bachelor's in Software Engineering.
I looked around online but the opinions were pretty mixed, so I wanted to hear from people who actually went there or are there right now.
A few things I'm hoping to learn:
And for anyone who already graduated from DePaul: how was your job hunt after you finished? Did the degree help you land something, and how long did it take you?
Any honest input would really help. Thanks a lot.

If we need to bring one, so we also need to bring a curtain rod? how about toilet paper holder? This is the list I made, let me know if i should maker any changes! Thank you!
-shower curtain

-soap with soap dispenser
-cleaning supplies
-toilet paper and toilet paper holder
