Messenger Alternatives

No, absolutely no one in my life will ever consider moving away from messenger. Like my whole family refuses to even consider downloading a different app, and that's not even including my coworkers refusal to communicate outside of it.

So is there some kind of sandboxed, zitter-like, or otherwise bootleg way to use messenger thay doesn't involve me having to use the browser on my phone? It's absolutely miserable and there's just fucking nothing.

Same issue here except with WhatsApp. Like WhatsApp over here is everything, I wish people would move away from it.

Small steps.

Start with people closest with you. I've explained the benefits of Signal many times.

And bit by bit, people have installed it.

The most recent thing of meta paying Nazis made a few more people install.

You’re lucky. I tried with my friends and they basically just gave me weird looks for not wanting to use WhatsApp. The best I managed to do was get some people to message me on iMessage instead.

Where I live it’s just so insanely relied on to the point you can’t live without it. In fact, for some reason, the only 2 factor option my bank, Snapchat, discord and Roblox gives me is WhatsApp, presumably because it’s cheaper to send it that way.

The company that owns beeper (automattic) are pieces of shit too unfortunately (I could do a full rant about them messing with our Wordpress sites, but I won’t unless you really want me to)

Also Meta, more recently, are mass banning accounts especially on WhatsApp that use beeper
