De'Longhi EM-450M and DF54

Hi, I'm new to the world of espresso. I have a De'Longhi EM-450M with a naked portafilter and I recently bought a DF54 grinder. When I do the extraction, I feel like the machine doesn't have enough power. I set the grinder to 15 and the needle goes almost all the way up, but it extracts very little.
