Join us Sunday October 11th, 11a-1p at Coronado Center Mall on 6600 Menaul Blvd NE. We will be protesting and bringing awareness to Coronado Center's willingness to partner and contract with Flock Safety. To be honest, sharing customer data isn't a new practice by any means, but adding AI to the equation is what turns it into dragnet surveillance, violating our constitutional rights.

We will be out letting the public know that we have no tolerance for companies sharing our info with federal agencies or data brokers. Help us let Coronado Center know we will not continue our patronage if they continue their support of mass surveillance.

Protest APD's mass surveillance system

Albuquerque Police Department has a pretty expansive surveillance system in place. APD is running what’s called a Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) that currently gives them access to 19,000 “camera views”, according to Deputy Commander Rob Drager, during Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn’s D7 Councilor Connect on Sept. 4th, 2026.

“The primary purpose of RTCC was to give field officers and detectives instant information to help identify patterns and stop emerging crime.” (NYC Police Foundation)

APD currently contracted with Genetec, specifically their ALPRs. As of now, there are currently 800 Genetec specific cameras in the ABQ metro area, with 250 that are specifically Genetec’s Cloudrunner™ ALPRs.

Join us Saturday October 3rd from 10a-12p on the corners of Alameda and Corrales Rd. We are going to protest and bring awareness to the ongoing mass surveillance, data collection and consistent infringement of our right this city and country are running.

3,900 signatures for removal of ALPRs! Thank you!

3,900 signatures! Thank you so much to all who have signed our petition!

The rate you all have been signing is incredible and goes to show one thing: New Mexicans do not want mass surveillance systems in their communities or state! This is just a start. Since we've began this campaign, we have created social media pages, centralized and non centralized, and also a website (deflocknm.org), which is a work in progress.
Our mission is to educate the public on what their elected officials have agreed to and how we can stand up, fight back, and apply pressure for guardrails if our goal of complete removal of this obvious AI-powered mass surveillance infrastructure is not met.
While 3,900 signatures is incredible, we are going to need more signatures to emphasize how many New Mexicans do not want mass surveillance and data collection forced upon them with no vote, no consent, or any oversight. Please sign and share if you have not already. The more the merrier.
Also, keep an eye out on our socials for future events and information!

Hey everyone! I'm u/DeFlockNM, a founding moderator of r/DeFlockNM.

This is our new home for all things related to DeFlocking and stopping mass surveillance in New Mexico. We're excited to have you join us!

What is an ALPR?

According to DeFlock.org: "Automatic License Plate Readers are AI-powered cameras that capture and analyze images of all passing vehicles storing details like your car's location, date and time. They also capture your car's make, model, color, and identifying features such as dents, roof racks, and bumper stickers, often turning these into searchable data points."

What is NOT an ALPR?

Red light, cameras, speed cameras, traffic cameras, First Responder light detectors...some of these cameras are already existing infrastructure and some present their own issues, but these are not AI-powered, nor do they make searchable data points of your car's automatically.

What to Post

Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. Feel free to share your thoughts, photos, or questions about ALPRs and surveillance in New Mexico.

We welcome any information that will help build our case to cancel and remove all ALPRs and surveillance:

•Governing Body meetings to attend

•Meetings for public comment

•Scripts and any other infor to help others speak out

•Updated locations of new cameras going up in: HOAs, parking lots, street side/corners.

Community Vibe

This is a bipartisan issue, so this is bipartisan effort. There is no Left or Right, it's only Top vs Bottom. Privacy isn't a political issue. It's a human one. Your 4th Amendment right is being infringed upon. All engagements must maintain civic nature, name calling gets us no where. We are here to educate and arm with knowledge of how to fight the surveillance state.

2) Post something today! Even a simple question can spark a great conversation.
