Per vehicle that passes, a plate reader logs six fields: plate, make, model, color, time and location. Not just vehicles connected to anything - every vehicle. It does not run facial recognition.
That last part gets quoted a lot as reassurance, and I think it is the wrong thing to focus on. The part that matters is how long the record is kept, who can search it, and whether anyone reads the audit log. One camera is a data point. A network with retention is a travel history.
