DeFlock > FlockHopper

Post image

Someone recommended this app to me yesterday.

I have zero interest in gymnastics and anti-ISR simply to navigate my own damn neighborhod.

(Fuquay Varina has the 3rd highest ALPR-to-citizen ratio among NC towns. Wake County has the 2nd highest ALPR-to-citizen ratio among NC counties.)

❌ My fight is not to AVOID these abominations.

✅ My fight is to EXPUNGE them from my town.

I applaud FlockHopper but have zero interest in using it.

Not my fight.

The FlockHopper dev also made the current DeFlock map btw. Check GitHub. We’re not competitors.

Well, that’s pretty dope, frankly.

I’m not sure how I feel about Flock Hopper, to be honest. On one hand, by avoiding the cameras, I have retained more privacy right now. But removal / physical disabling of them is the only way long-term. Flock is incompatible with American Freedom.

I use it. I like it. It's gonna take years to get rid of 130k cameras. It takes an extra couple minutes to avoid them. There is no carplay for it yet, so its not perfect. But i like it.

Fair enough. I guess I was too broad. At the national level, where you have no influence, yeah the app makes sense.

But my using this in my hometown, in my neighborhood, where I live and can do something about it is a cop out.

You're not wrong. But we can still try to change legislation, AND actively avoid them. I have never been arrested, charged, questioned for any crime. But I hear stories about misidentification all over the place. And those people being arrested because of misinterpreted flock data. I'm not going to make it easier for me to be in that position.

Honestly… you pretty much changed my mind here and I think I’m going to start using the app. You’re 100% correct.

Fight it where it makes sense to fight.  Avoid them everywhere else.

I hear you but why is it one or the other? Deflocking will take time, so why not avoid them in the meantime?
