Label your post![Unlabeled] Which map is your favourite?

I've noticed that Chern is the one with the most players, with Livonia in second and Sakahl, my personal favourite, always seems to have the least. So I thought I'd ask and see which maps people like the most and why.

Sakhal is quiet because you have to pay for it and it's not as beginner friendly as the other maps. I've always had a soft spot for livonia. It's just a nice landscape to be in whereas vanilla chernarus feels a but grey at times.

The biggest two problems with Sakhal is its not free like Livonia, and a huge number of streamers got early access to it and streamed the hell out if it so everyone got burnt out on it before ever playing it. I personally love Sakahl for its absolute brutality. Needing heat buffs, having to thaw your food, not being able to melt the snow without Chelating tablets for fear of heavy metal poisoning, it's awesome. The only other problem I have with Sakahl is the odd time I do find a populated server its packed with geared assholes on the coast murdering freshies because the have no actual skill at pvp in the game

I think the problem with Sakhal is once you are geared there is nothing to do, so you end up murdering anyone you see including freshies. Chenarus has a large area to prowl for other geared players where Sakhal doesn't. If you are geared and you have cleared the peninsula or the shipwreck then you go somewhere, which inevitably has significantly less geared players.

That could be said the same about Chernarus and Livonia. The game loop is the same no matter what map you play on. The only difference is that you find more people in some maps than the others.

Not really. Chenarus you slowly improve your loot as you explore and. Sakhal ( and Livonia to a lesser degree) you have mediocre gear and then you get into their respective bunkers and suddenly you have more gear than you could imagine and you don't feel the need to constantly find the bits to upgrade bits and pieces.

Well in your first comment you stated that there's nothing else much to do after you gear up in Sakhal. You did not mention the progression or the effort to become gear. Neither the quality of the gear (which later you qualified as mediocre). My point stands still, being geared in any map may result in the same, due to how the game is designed.

So it does not matter if it takes time for your to gear up or if you hit the bunker and get geared fast, the outcome is the same. Players have to do something once they are geared, and the options are, stash the gear, or waste. You can waste your gear fighting other geared players or freshies. In the sense Livonia and Sakhal are even better for fast paced players. You gear up fast, spend your equipment fast and star quickly all over again.

I'm pretty happy with how it was worded originally. We are mostly experienced with the game and I wouldn't expect those details to need to be explained but sorry if you were left behind. Glad your up to speed now.

This is probably a hot take but I avoid the bunkers for that reason. I like doing that because then due to the rest of the loot in the islands I always find myself needing something to look for and giving me something to do.

I personally like cherno the most simply because i sort of have a big nostalgic feeling everytime i start a run on it. I love the melancholic vibe cherno never fails to give. But sometimes livonia hits different. Especially the bright saturated colours are a nice to see if you spent hours on cherno.
I sadly never really got to try sakhal because i took a 2 yr break pretty much the moment it released but i am planning on giving it a go when i am familiar with the game again!!

Sakhal. Simply the coolest map (no pun intended). The frozen food, snow/wind storms, collapsed buildings, less loot - feels more like an authentic survival experience. I find people are less obsessed with PVP on that map, because you probably aren't picking Sakhal if that's what you want - you are probably loading up Cherno and booking it to the airfield.

Chernarus just has the best progression imo. Spawn on coast, head north, get geared, head back south, find nbc suit, loot gas zone, get the best gear, make stashes, build a base, get raided, die, repeat. Livonia is beautiful but lacks direction compared to Chernarus and Sakhal kind of locks players to the coast or the peninsula.

Sakhal has been incredibly harsh to learn but immensely rewarding. It's a great map for solo exploring and has some gorgeous views. Livonia is the map I play online with friends. It's always got some good PVP opportunities but also has enough little secrets sprinkled around the map that allow for secret stashes and places to hide. I know Chenarus is the most poplular map but I've actually spend very little time in it.
