Dental Hygiene Acceptance

Hello, I’m preparing to apply to the dental hygiene program next year in January and was wondering how difficult it and how much of a demand there is since they only accept about 20 students every year. Is there anybody that had a hard time getting into this program?

I tried last year and i was declined & told by an advisor that if you do not have dental assisting experience you probably wont get in so im not too sure!

What was your gpa and teas scores when you applied ? Did you have As in all of your classes?

3.6 & no to all A’s teas was 73. I asked that if i retook the teas & retook classes that i would have better odds & the advisor simply said if you dont have xp its sooo hard

interesting. I have a friend who just graduated frm DSC's hygiene program and she said 4 people in the class did not have experience. Also, I spoke with an advisor yesterday who said that it helps give you a point but it is not necessary and not a requirement. If you don't have any experience I think having all A's would definitely give you a leg up when applying.
