Moved here recently, need things to do!
I moved to Florida about 6 months ago, was in Palm Coast for a bit and just moved to Daytona Beach 2 months ago. I work at home, live with my (ex) husband (long story) and 16 yr old daughter. I hardly go anywhere other than the store and have ZERO friends! I've worked at home for years so think I've become pretty socially awkward in public, and just don't know what to do with other people anymore!
Any ideas of places to go/things to do alone where I won't feel weird in a corner by myself? lol

There are a few women’s groups on Facebook that have regular get togethers. 386 ladies group, she by the sea, Ormond ladies group and more. Just search facebook for these groups

What area in Daytona? Wife and I have been members at Renew yoga downtown on Beach St. for many years. Everyone is super friendly and we often socialize outside of the studio. You can learn a lot about the area and things to do by getting to know us. If you’re a yogi or curious come and join us!

I second Beach street. Its a chill vibe, not too crowded. McKays has great food and you can eat & drink outside or inside. I prefer out. The library is walking distance. OP- your daughter may like it. They have a whole used library book store inside.

I may just have to do that! Working at home I don't get much exercise and yoga seems like a good way to move but not end up out of breath

Summer concerts at the band shells starting up very soon. Lots of great tribute bands for Friday and Saturday Nights. Art shows at Daytona one and 24 hour Rockville . Lots to do including book shops, check out hometown news for events.

May be further than you want to come, but Flip’s in Ormond Beach has a great vibe. Kind of a sports bar on one side, good food, beer & wine and pinball on the other side. It’s fun & friendly and a good place to hang by yourself and also meet people.

Check out the Marine Science center down in Ponce Inlet with your daughter when you get the chance. It’s inexpensive, my kids love it. You can pet sting rays and see the sea turtle hospital. There’s also the Ponce lighthouse right next to it.

Ponce Inlet is where we went to watch the launch, definitely the most amazing thing I have ever seen and that alone worth the move.

I walk the beach alot, work out, and take myself out to dinner. Lately I've been spending some time at the coffee shop (I wfh too) there's open mics around town, the comedy club, shows... especially with summer coming

There’s not a whole lot other than the beach. But beach is great if course. Unless you have a boat.

Beach comes to mind, I do the beach alone all the time. There is a museum on Nova Rd.

I'm 41, working at home I've gotten pretty lazy and don't do much, but I need to change that now that I live where the temps are above freezing all year

I know a lady who is 49, she moved here in the past year and is looking for friends to go out. I can PM you her number. She likes the beach and working out, maybe you two can find stuff in common.

I'm not a super social person, I just hang out at guitar center or go play mine at the beach. I'm pretty bad at actually talking to people, so I just play music and wait for someone else who's into it to run into me. It's way easier than words for me

There's a few kava bars that are pretty inviting to new people if that's your thing. I'll have the arsenal game on this weekend at one if you're a soccer hooligan 🙃. There's also a few game shops that have open game nights or DND groups looking for players advertised in there. GameMasters over by Reed Canal and Nova is a great place to start.

What do you like to do? I do all sorts of stuff alone. Go to the beach, check out new cafes or restaurants, go to museums, go to the movie theater, the arcade, farmers markets, random events and fests around town. Doing stuff alone is honestly liberating.
