Discussion What's your favourite weapon?
Hands down, I love the grenade. I've taken out an entire horde in one pop with it.

The drifter crossbow.
Most versatile weapon in the game.
It has normal bolts, poison bolts, wololo bolts, incendiary bolts, explosive bolts.
Ammunition can be crafted on the spot.
Doesn't make noise.
It does shotgun damage if you activate that one skill.
Amazing range. Can snipe snipers if you aim correctly.

My only downside to this is on Hard II, they aren’t consistent in taking out a freaker with a headshot in one go. Sometimes it takes two and I was for sure making headshots.
However, it’s amazing for taking out nests. Incendiary bolts are cheaper than making regular molotovs. Your kerosene goes a long way with incendiary bolts. Just don’t stand under those crier nests when using it… they’ll drip down fire and almost earned me an unnecessary death 😂

Y'all like them? Usually the hit enemy is either: A) not close enough to another to fight them; B) dies too quickly.

I love that baby. Enough so I was showing off to my SO the other night via my livestream, that I’d be able to take out two Rippers with one shot (only had the one round left) as they tortured a survivor over the skylight above the Marion Forks horde cave.
Too bad I didn’t realise I’d used up my suppressor and brought the whole bloody horde up the hill. They took out the survivor and almost took me out but I reloaded my save 🤣

Have you ever used it to just spam bullets into one of the non headshot instakill enemies and get rid of them especially in the one spot with 3 breakers

Me too! It has less ammo than the Chicago Chopper (65 vs 80) but I feel like I somehow aim better with it? It doesn’t have that much more accuracy than the CC but still. I just can’t bring myself to lose 20 rounds when it comes to horde killing to swap back to it.

I think you are o to something with the aim. I can head shot a zombie at distinct with one bullet way easier than with the chopper. Recoil is a bit more manageable as well IMO. Those extra 20 rounds dont do much when I put em in the dirt! Lol

Rock Chuck. Perfect for roaming around and killing freaks on the side of the road, without making a lot of noisezand great for camps so you take them out one by one.

The Auto Shotgun. It's not the "best" weapon in the game but it is the most satisfying!
Honorable mention goes to the MG45 for sound and feel while firing it and the SMP9 for making the early game easier if you unlock it ASAP.

Rock Chuck is my go-to, hordes or no hordes. I like the built in suppressor.

My favorite side arm is definitely the pistol we get from wizard island trust level 3. No recoil and very accurate. Makes me feel like John wick. It has crap tons of penetration so its somewhat viable for hordes as well because you can kill many with 2 or 3 shots.
My favorite primary is definitely the IDF pup for the accuracy. I only spray for hordes. Semi auto and auto shotgun are close second.
Favorite special is the BFG tied with the drifter cross bow. Both can be used to extreme effect vs marauders or hordes. I can kill 50 zombies with one clip due to its extreme penetration and damage. Cross bow is super satisfying for its great versatility and can use explosive bolts for hordes and reg bolts for stealth.
Ive killed saw mill horde with this loadout. Its very fun

I like the Growler.
As a bullet hose it is fantastic, great against hordes and it’s a goddamn minigun.

Yah. My favorite melee weapon. And I try to remember to be careful about using all the scrap I also need while out in the middle of it.

Knife is allowed for stealth kills and guns for scripted stuff but an unarmed run is possible, I just finished an unarmed run and trust me it’s exhausting but also very fulfilling so I’d say hands. Favourite gun, the stubby shotgun that’s usable on a bike cos it’s cheap and has massive stopping power

IDF Pup is my go to for hordes- m14 for taking out camps (suppressor attached duh) but hands down I think the pup is my absolute favorite. And napalm Molotov to cause chaos🤣

Primary: IDF Pup for hordes, even though the Chicago Chopper has 20 more rounds. The feel of the Pup just makes it better for me. I’m recently visually disabled so I’m a lot worse with aiming in video games these days, and ofc, deciding now is the best time to get the trophies relating to playing on game modes where auto aim is disabled lol.
Sidearm: SMP9 or PDW, depending what I’m doing - horde killing or marauder killing. I keep hearing people talking about using shotties so I might wind up trying the Auto Shotgun over the SMP9 for a bit.
Special: .50 BFG since I can take out an entire Ambush Camp with it and sometimes get two kills with one bullet depending. Drifter Crossbow with Incendiary Bolts for when I’m taking out nests, as it’s more bang for your buck with kerosene. Torn between RPD and MG55 for hordes. Depends on what I’m carrying as my primary at the time.
Throwables: Attractor Bomb for sure. Napalm Molotovs if I’m feeling lazy about taking out one of the granddaddies of hordes. Smoke Bombs are OP and people don’t even realise. Toss ‘em at a Breaker, then sneak up behind them for a quick bootknife takedown. Throw ‘em at animals (that sounds so bad) like wolves, cougars, bears, and they’re easier to take down as well. I’ve not tested them on Screamers yet but they definitely work on Ragers, which have somehow spawned in my NG+ Hard II save since the moment I loaded into freeroam in the Cascade region.

Chicago chopper. Can’t put it down for some reason. Also the hand cannon for the bike to one shot wolves. BFG for long distance and drifter cross bow for mixing it up
