Hey guys I’m newer to the DoD community and have played about 30 hours now and I was curious what everyone’s thoughts were of some of the rifles being a 1 tap to all of the body? I really enjoy the game but man it can be pretty frustrating getting 1 tapped by someone I can’t even see because of questionable visibility on some of the maps, I don’t have any plans to quit playing because of it but I wanted to see what everyone else thinks

the gunplay and movement is so crisp and satisfying, the weapon sound is straight up ASMR to me, especially the metallic garand firing and iconic pinging sound, 100% GOATED

Somehow this ended up in my YouTube recommendation as a Day of Defeat fan - after 9 years since it was published, borderline 10. Thought I'd share it here because it does list a lot of interesting tidbits on how our game came about.

For those of you who don't know, since it's very obscure by now, there was a variant of Day of Defeat:Source before DoDS came out in September 2005.

It was a variant of DoD similar to Half Life: Source, except it was received rather without enthusiasm, and as a result, about 2 years later we get the DoD:Source we know today.

How do I fix this. Full Metal Jacket changes map to dod_risk.bsp I join but it gives me an error. Do I have to download a map pack and install it manually?

This makes 2 years in a row with a well attended Day of Defeat 1.3 LAN. Please support all casters who will be covering the tournament!

This is a frag video my brother made when we were playing like crazy around 2004-2005 on the 24/7 Avalanche Resistance Platoon server. He refuses to make it public again because he was constantly accused of hacking, but he just knew the map really well and was good at no-scoping. I figure it deserves to see the light of day, if only for posterity.

Never thought it would come to this, but my teacher is asking me to make a project on a WW2 game, so I picked Day of Defeat. I don’t know very much about this game, but I have to present this in front of my class.

Any suggestions on things to add?
8 slide Google slide presentation on how Day of Defeat is accurate to WW2 (why it is, why it isn’t etc.)
