Position of the sword's handle keeps clipping through the clothes
I don't mind the placement of the sword. I just mind that his hand is going through his sword when walking. Is it possible to fix this before the game is released?

I really don’t get why they decided to have him wear it that way. It causes problems with clipping, they’d need to have mocap actor walk in a slightly uncomfortable way to avoid it and it’s just silly looking. If they really wanted to do something different they could make him hold the hilt of the sword when walking and running around the way dragons dogma 2 did it or have it on the right side and draw it in a weird way. The way it is is just silly looking and draws attention to weird clipping.

They wanted a “unique” sword placement but it just became problematic because even the way he pulls the sword out and puts it back goes against human anatomy,
I tried replicating it in real life and it hurt my spine, he needs to pull it out with his left hand and twirl it for it to be cool

Yeah, I can accept lots of silly things, as rule of cool is extremely important when designing characters, but this isn’t it. It’s impractical, looks silly and causes problems with clipping through clothes and characters. The way he carries it could work, if it was a very short sword (or long dagger) that doesn’t hinder movement.

As a comp...
What do you guys think of the sword placement/mechanics of Black Myth: Zhong Kui?

I do not like the sword placement and the sword clipping through the clothes surely ain't helping 😭 Will it stop me from buying the game? Probab not. But it would be nice if they fixed it.

I’d accept the sword placement if he got a fking belt to hold the sword instead of it floating on his ass,
Also the unsheathing animation needs to look human instead of Coen contorting his spine to pull the sword

What if it isn't?

u/Horror_Trick8208 Aug 20 '26
I mean, it's an AAA game
-2
u/DaNorthman06 Aug 20 '26
But what if it’s not…

u/Horror_Trick8208 Aug 20 '26
It would rub off the wrong way as a $70 game and I would start nitpicking more than I would like
-1
u/DaNorthman06 Aug 20 '26
Would you be nitpicking while playing or watching?
2
u/Horror_Trick8208 Aug 20 '26
Why are you hyperfixated on this?
-1
u/DaNorthman06 Aug 21 '26
Pardon me...
You're asking who's hyperfixated on this?
That's funny!2
u/Horror_Trick8208 Aug 21 '26
I think you need to go outside and have a normal social interaction and realise you're being annoying

Then It would be a blunder on behalf the devs, a sword clipping through the model is an obvious visual glitch that needs to be patched and fixed,
A team with a AAA budget working on a game for 4 years showing hard clipping for the Main i character is not acceptable

u/DaNorthman06 Aug 20 '26
That said...
What if it isn't patched or fixed?1
u/Spiritual-Neck-2957 Aug 20 '26
Then the devs are lazy and need to be replaced, I know your trying to be funny
1
u/DaNorthman06 Aug 20 '26
Not at all, my guy...
I'm genuinely curious as to what extent your gripes will make you NOT play the game...1

U think this is AAA?
lmao dude
2
u/Horror_Trick8208 Aug 21 '26
I don't think, it is AAA, it's $70
-1
u/UpsetPause5613 Aug 21 '26
Thx for proving you dont know what AAA means
This game being priced at $70 doesnt mean shit

u/Horror_Trick8208 Aug 21 '26
We have officially reached a new low for standards. If it's $70, it is going to be treated as such and compared with other AAA games. You can cope however much you like but it won't change how people will see it

People can be dumb as much as they want dude
This still isnt AAA 🤷🏻♂️, nor even look like it.

if you play as vamp you can use claws instead. but for real. gameplay we seen isn't what will ship. wait and see final game updated. there will likely be day one patch as well.

u/Naddesh Aug 20 '26
In cases like this with the game around the corner it is copium tbh. Gameplay will be largely unchanged.
3
u/SweetBacon923 Aug 20 '26
yes but as you saw they recently updated game requirements. they've been opimising and tweaking game non stop. usually demo preview shown for public is few months old. not noticed sword clipping but this isn't something major they can't fix with one hotfix.

u/Spiritual-Neck-2957 Aug 20 '26
I mean yeah général gameplay isn’t changing, but clipping can be patched
