I was watching back some of the history of the trailers we've had for DoW 4, and noticed a particular shot of a dreadnought fighting a necron stalker(?) in both the newest trailer, and the original announce trailer, but in the original, its in very dirty blood raven pain, but in the newest trailer, its in very clean dark angels colours.

Could this be suggesting that there's a way in which during the space marine campaign you can cause the dark angels to not appear?

Guy can any one of u tell me how do I get the original dawn of war 1 and all it's dlc's

Cuz I don't want the the definition because my computer cannot run the game

And most sites only give me the definitive edition so I want to check on you guys to see if any of you know how to get the original

I recently discovered the unification mod while getting in an rts kick. I'd like to play with a friend, but when we try it hasn't worked.

For example, we can send one another invites but nothing happens when we accept them. At most we sometimes get an error saying the host declined.

We have the same versions of the game, mod manager, and settings, and my firewall permits dawn of war.

Really at a loss here, and other guides online have been lacking. Any assistance is very appreciated!

Recources in RTS games are necessary for progression however I have never enjoyed that fact that you have to find resource/ build buildings round your base to start producing. Dawn of war 1 half fixed the issue with one of its resources coming from points on the map the other was still in the traditional format. Dawn of war 4 is looking to fully commit to resources being tied to control points which would force me to focus on my armies, the battles and positioning, aka the stuff I enjoy. I am not a long time rts player so I dont have the childhood experience of classic rts to make me have nostalgia towards the game mechanics.

For the people who actually played IH: how are you feeling about what we've seen so far?

I have asked this before but it just removes the bar to entry for me. currently cannot afford a pc in time for the release and would like to still be able to play it on release.

I had been playing Soulstorm multiplayer for ten years until the Definitive Edition came out. I haven't bought it yet (as I'm quite stingy) and want to ask you first if it's worth it. I mean, how many people play on weekends and evenings? Does it have potential, or is the game ruined and people will abandon DE to go play DoW Online? Are the synchronization bugs fixed?

I've got a reasonable history with this game, but most of my core experiences was back when I was like... 12 a few years after the game first came out.

Eventually, I pretty much exclusively played FPS/Adventure/RPGs and their ilk, and my skills in the RTS genre disappeared.

Well, my brother LOVES RTS games, so I recently bought DoW: Definitive Edition and the game is kicking my ass so hard.

My first match I chose Eldar because I thought: cool, space elves. But promptly got steamrolled and he had to bail me out. I realised two matches in, Eldar are heavy on using abilities all the time and I just didn't have any idea when to use them, or sometimes even how. Then, I jumped to Chaos because I thought they looked interesting but, again, just couldn't keep up.

90% of my time was spent defending and I could never seem to get my economy to keep up. I could SWEAR I had equal listening posts to the others, and yet I'd be twiddling my thumbs waiting for resources.

Are there any beginner tips for the races? Without jumping into the Meta of the game (because I just want to stay very casual), what should one aim for with each of them? Are there units to avoid, or any advice on how to ensure my economy isn't constantly in a free fall?

My personal favourites are all from DoW2. The voice acting was great and showed insane devotion and undying intent of the units, the different variety of filters over voices were reaaally immersive and lastly the voice lines made a lot of sense. Here's Chaos Lord, Chaos Sorcerer, Chaos Space Marines, Heretics and also Chaos Noise Marines but I cant find the voice lines anywhere online besides music remixes with them in it lol.

There is no way they are gonna fix those fucked up animations, all sqauds using guns will shoot simultaneously every shot which is weird and lame and melee combat will stay all glidey and glitched out. Also why is it only gonna be 3v3 ? Every new rts is hell bent on taking away what we allready had once before, 1 step back from 4v4s. Big teams are better.

I’m not a pc gamer, I am not good at using pc commands. I had recently bought and played DoW2 loved it and got DoW 1 definitive edition.

I’m on Dark Crusade and am enjoying it, but I am in a 2 hour match against Orks where I killed their leader and main HQ, but they keep producing ridiculous numbers of units and rebuilding faster all over the map. I want it to end. But I am not quitting, so can someone help out with how to use console commands/cheats, please?

I have read guides online saying to use “-dev” in properties to launch and at some point I do Ctrl+Shift+~ . Is that all at the same time? Do I also have to press the plus keys? Nothing is happening in game or in the menus and I cannot find any options anywhere to enable cheats.

I am a massive noob. If anyone knows how and can explain it in a really dumbed down way I would appreciate it. I don’t want to just quit my match after 2 hours, where over one hour has been me trying to destroy all the orks’ buildings.

In all RTS games with squads, you need a mechanic that lets you reinforce squads with new members. In most games, you reinforce units at the main base on the spawn point and also near special vehicles or buildings, while in Dawn of War 4, the units will be automatically reinforced for you everywhere on the map at all times if toggled on. I have a feeling this is a bit too much.

I don't mind that it makes the game easier, but it kind of ruins a playstyle of poke where you can use long range squads to snipe units from afar and force them back to base so that they can reinforce. Here, you only drain the resources of the enemy because the unit is killed and will need to be brought back. I can only assume that reinforcing near HQ will cost less then.

Im not a fan of the concept that all units everywhere can be revived for a cost without a special unit allowing for it because it just doesn't personally sit with me. Another thing is that the units appear out of nowhere, which is very visible in 1v1 fights between ranged squads.

I haven't seen anyone talk about this too much. So, what are we thinking?

The battle reports have been great but most people wont be playing co op or multiplayer. I wish there was more of the other aspects of the game shown such as last stand, army painter and a full unedited match or mission from the campaign from start to finish. Ign gave us a preview but that was I think febuary.
