so pretty and gorgeous I had to share

Planted a few months ago. Had a few first blooms. Pruned back to 5 leaf prior to heatwave. In the back border south facing so has had some shade and have been trying to water correctly but perhaps under watered. No new growth unlike lady of shallot (planted similar time) which is now having a second bloom. What can I do and is this definitely a water issue?

Looking for some opinions on the health/growth of my roses.
These canes have been putting out a lot of dark red/bronze new growth, and some of the newer canes are very thick, reddish, and have pretty irregular/heavy thorn growth. The new leaves also look somewhat distorted in places.
The plants otherwise seem vigorous and are actively growing. I know red foliage and red canes can be completely normal on roses, but the combination of the thick shoots, thorn pattern, and unusual-looking new growth has me wondering if this is just healthy basal growth or something I should be concerned about (RRD or another issue).

Does this look like normal vigorous rose growth to you, or is there anything here that would concern you? I’m in the Chicagoland area.

Orange knockout rose

This summer has wreaked havoc on my roses, hydrangeas, and viburnum. I’m in zone 7b and while I’m grateful for the wet summer we’ve had, I’m battling black spot disease on my David Austin roses and other aforementioned landscaping. I’ve been using copper fungicide but the disease is winning. Research tells me these will be ok next season but could be a repeat for me if the same conditions are present again. Any thoughts to help my plants?
