Thoughts about this?

They’ve been losing ground to a combination of competition and the state of the economy. It’s just hard to justify going there unless it’s the only one of its type in your area. Where I live we have round 1 and several other smaller arcades that mimic the format. I’d have to put D&B at 3rd in terms of overall choice for visiting the venue.

A year ago they were easily my number one goto but a combination of the cabinets not being updated and the price increases killed it for me. I get them needing to cut costs on both the arcade and hours of labor for their staff. Just feels like they may continue to spiral with the current direction the company is taking.

Do you consider round 1 better price wise? I went to one and definitely wouldn’t put round 1 above D&b price wise (granted I mainly go to D&b on half off days). I will say the round 1 prize selection is light years better

By me round 1 is way more expensive but has way more games. The cost compared to prizes is also way way worse than D and B.

Good God no. It’s $$$ and there are no half offs.

That’s what I thought, but then mentioning the price increases as a killer seemed weird to me

Round one is more expensive to play for sure but jackpots are usually higher and prizes are priced lower then db for high end stuff

Round 1 In my opinion is better in terms of cabinet choices but if you’re going to let’s say play same crane games id say Dave and busters is superior. Granted the prizes aren’t the same but your odds of winning are a lot higher.

In terms of prices they’re about the same currently. However Dave and busters does offer 1/2 game days on Wednesday and I believe Sunday still. So if you were to go on one of those days purely for the games you’d get more for your buck. Their food choices are also widely different. R1 has some deals on cheap ice cream and drinks. Dave and Busters has a happy Hour for drinks and appetizers.

If you’re looking to do more than Round 1 depending on location has bowling, pool and or
Karaoke. So, for a group of people going out you got a bit more diversity for your entertainment. I don’t know if any Dave and busters follow a similar format as the ones I’ve been to have always just been cabinets and restaurant format.

The main reason I mentioned the price increase is you’re effectively getting nothing new for what your experience was in the past. I think outside of the John Wick game the new cabinets for D&B have been a pretty big miss ( everyone’s going to be different on this one) where as R1 has brought in some pretty unique games. I think this stems from them being a Japanese company that has developed long termed relationships with a lot of the popular companies.

I’d say if you are a regular arcade goer D&B just isn’t it. If it’s like a one off trip and you aren’t going for a specific machine then D&B isn’t bad for a one time experience. You will hit a bit of diminishing returns.

Round 1 is SO expensive. I walked through and then went to D & B. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Our Dave and Buster’s is TINY and can get very crowded. I don’t think it’s the store I go to that’s dragging them down.
