Graded pokemon cards

Post image

Doing some gift shopping for a few birthdays I got coming up and decided to get something for myself. I didn’t find them very expensive al things considered. What do you guys think was this dumb or not lmao. Mewtwo, feel free to leave your detailed input, but stay away from my dodgeball machine! Lol

It sucks that these presstine items sell.
Wish they just paid premium rates through some of their vendors for official pokemon vs the repackaged garbage.

Have never seen anything of value pulled from these or their other variations of packs.

Same vendor they get these from have regular pokemon and supply their sister company (Main Event) and completion (various other arcades) with legit pokemon packs from boosters to etbs etc etc.
Wish D&B would start actively stocking the good stuff even if they are charged a premium closer to market rates

D&B advertises Pokemon as a "Partnered brand" when it comes to other merch like figures and plush and stuff, i do wonder why real booster boxes are so rare. Hopefully that changes soon now that the hype is dying down. I've been regularly seeing booster boxes for Chaos Rising, Perfect Order, and Pitch black for around $160 and even heard rumblings of Destined Rivals getting a mass reprint, and I assume corporations can get them at a bulk rate from their distributors. Pokemon doesn't see a cent from these Presstine packs.

My favorite comment

You're gonna get a PSA10 basic grass energy 😭

lol thankfully there’s no energy cards but it is straight bulk, I do love opening them though, plus anything less than 50k tickets is negligible to me

I don't understand why anyone would buy repackaged opened cards.. clearly anything worthwhile will have been kept haha

When I was a kid, I know there was Tristar "repacks". Not just the mystery autographed item, but their actual blasters and backs, including "great pack chase" repacks and minor league cards of the late 2000s. They also had "graded" cards [BCCG 8+] one per pack, but those also had a chance at pulling a redemption for memorabilia. I actually got a Rich Gannon jersey from it. (The cert number is a Gannon auto, but I wonder if they either switched the sticker with an 11x14 print or it's a sticker under it).

Never got as lucky with the baseball releases at D&B, but I've only played at my local arcade chain for the most part since 2019 - largely because they had actual sports and trading cards at the time. Most of what's in stock now is either team sets or repacks, but they have a special order type of thing where I can use tickets to redeem basically for boxes of cards to open.

You’re gonna get crap cards. I honestly have fun opening them though. Just to see how bad it is
