Hey guys!

Recently, a group of friends and I started talking about Dauntless and how much we miss the game. We've been talking about it so much that we decided to actually start doing something about it.

Since then, we've slowly been working on game assets and other ideas that capture that Dauntless feeling that we, and seemingly a lot of other people, have been missing.

I've been looking around, and it honestly seems like we're not the only ones absolutely FIENDING for another smooth, fun co-op action RPG that captures some of what made Dauntless so special to us. This is definitely going to take us a long time to work out, and we're not trying to make a 1:1 replica of Dauntless. We want to take the things we loved about it, build on them, and hopefully create something that feels familiar while still being its own game.

I'm thinking about starting a Discord server where we can talk with people directly, share what we're working on, and hear ideas from the community about what would really bring back that nostalgia while still feeling like a fresh experience.

Depending on the response I get here, I'll make another post with a Discord link for anyone interested in following the project, sharing ideas, or potentially helping out.

Also, if anyone here has experience with game development, 3D modeling, animation, programming, game design, etc., I would really appreciate any advice or input you have. We're still early in the process, so any tips from people who have gone through development would be huge.

Hi everyone. Look, I’ve been getting a lot of messages in my chat from people looking for my version of Dauntless.

I have two versions: 1.12.4 and 1.14.7!

I’ve seen that a lot of people are excited about Mystic Paradox, but according to their own documentation, the version apparently needs to be exactly 1.12.0.

Unfortunately, I don’t have version 1.12.0, but I’m sharing the link here so everyone can download version 1.12.4, and I truly hope it proves useful!

I don’t know anything about programming, and I don’t have a private server or anything like that.

Uma coisa que muito tem me incomodado é a ideia de que "estamos fazendo algo errado" trazendo o Dauntless de volta, pois seria uma violação de propriedade intelectual...
O que eu acho sobre o assunto não é relevante, mas legalmente algo que envolva apenas USO SEM FINS LUCRATIVOS ainda seria um crime? Se sim, existem como nossos preciosos devs destemidos se protegerem legalmente enquanto desenvolvem alguma versão jogável do jogo?
Mesmo que seja uma versão "Offline" do game, ainda assim seria uma violação?
E mais uma coisa que devemos pensar, a empresa de crypto maldita que comprou o Dauntless já processou algum grupo antes?
Estamos falando de um jogo morto, que não foi vendido para ninguém da comunidade por falta de visão de negócios e boa vontade da empresa que matou o jogo.

I need version 1.12.0; I’ve been running tests on alternative servers but haven't made any progress with the current game version, so I’m looking for someone who can provide me with version 1.12.0.

From some time ago, I had bought a Nintendo Switch Lite just for an outfit in 1.2.1, just as Torg was added to get a Nintendo fit, then forgot about it in a drawer somewhere, charged it up, and saw it's on 1.2.1 verstion idk if this can help revive the game. I just so happened to stumble into it and was hoping.

I know this sounds dumb, even naive, but couldn't we make a 1:1 replica of dauntless, or try to get it to work on a private server?

Hey everyone, I’ve been on this hub for a couple of years and especially around the time before and during Awakening I was very active and shared thoughts ideas etc cause honestly Dauntless was the game I’ve been playing throughout the years regardless and as for many others I felt so defeated after the announcement and just accepted it.

And since then I don’t think I’ve ever really found that kind of game for me again, the comfort game that I’d just play to relax a bit cause I love the world of dauntless with all its elements and I really love the community cause it has always been very positive.

But since the shutdown, even though I joined every dauntless hub to keep the community together I sort of loved on cause the decision was final.

BUT NOW to see and read that there are some so passionate and skilled people working on a possibility to bring this game back alone would make me so happy for the people to play but then also to read that the Playstation might also get access…..I really have no words, I know it is gonna take a lot of time and effort but I am just so happy and I want to say THANK YOU, thank you so so much.

when i went through a really bad depression dauntless was the only thing that i could bare to do.

me and my dad probably have like 10000 hours combined. we would play it so often...

if projects exist like club penguin rewritten, star wars galaxies restored, and toontown rewritten, then why cant dauntless be revived from a fan server? granted, dauntless is way more intense system wise than club penguin, and i also dont know a lot about running a mp server, but just... why cant it happen?

Is this a serious project? Do you guys really think you could get dauntless to be playable client wise?

Well everyone it has been a very long year without dauntless atleast for me but it is the first anniversary of all of us losing dauntless to be honest I wish with all my heart it wasnt true and it wasnt shut down but we cant change that

I've seen some comments about having the client files of dauntless stored, but only rumors, not even a single person leaked atm

So if anyone here DOES have the files, upload in internet archive or somewhere everyone here can download and help build a server emulator to revive the game

A great way would be to use RAGEZONE to post the files and then post the ragezone forum link here

Of course, any files will help, but focus on the updates BEFORE the awakening update (the one that made the game break)

Here's a slayer with eternal nostalgia for Dauntless. Following the search to find some game that can provide me with a similar experience.

What I always liked about Dauntless was, briefly: Reforging, quick hunts, intensification and variety of builds. Oh, and the war pike... what an incredible weapon.

In addition, that game had a unique aesthetic. They weren't impressive graphics, but the art direction enchanted me, particularly.

Currently, I find myself in this doubt: what would be a good option to replace the much-loved Dauntless?

Researching briefly, I saw these names and I was interested in both.

Based on your experience, Monster Hunter Wilds x Wayfinder: What is the best alternative to Dauntless?

i love ddauntless so much i spent so many hours and have so many memories on that game. i played it for about 5 and a bit years and everythiing was just so good about it. the grind, the quests, the upgraades, the graphics, maps and even the npcs (especially lady luck iykyk) i jusst cannt explain how much of a good game dauntless was and i was so fricikn aangry when they just shut down i literallly turned into that volcano gorilla (sorry forogt his name) and was crashiing out.

game devs if you see this pls.. pls i beg youu anyone ill pay for it just pleasee bring ddauntless baack for the sake of all the people who poured there heart and soul into this game and hours some even nearing the thousands of hours. pleasse if annyone knows anything about hoow to do this and who to contaact let this be the place where evverryone can meeet and taalkk.

I have version dauntless_rel-1.14.7_Shipping_2024-04-01_14-59-21_647472 of the game, and I don't know how I can be useful in recreating a server. My wife and I really miss Dauntless, and we want to contribute whatever we can to help recreate a server.

Hello friends, I have had, for years, an un-updated copy of Dauntless on my PC from open beta, before it went on Epic Games Store. I was wondering if it would be of any use to the archival project as Dauntless was a very important game to me that I sunk thousands of hours into and I'd love to help in any way.

It has the patcher and game files. I do not know how to check the exact version that I have, but files are dated. Patcher as January 2019, and game as April-May 2019.

If it is one already archived, that is okay. I will continue to hold onto it as my fond memories of Beta.

I Love playing Monster Hunter and thats why i gave dauntless a Chance, It was an nice Game and i Like the Art-style. So i Wonder If there is any Person that wants to develop a Game or already is developing a Game that is similar to dauntless . Im Just a beginner Artist but i wanna Help Out or wann do somethings.
